My car was destroyed by this transport company!
I had my brand new truck shipped from Florida to California. When they delivered my truck they had parked the transport vehicle about 6 blocks from my house. That seemed strange to me since my house was located on a very large street and closer to the highway. But being the trusting person that I am I just let it go. So I gave my car one quick inspection for any damage and didn't see anything. After I signed the waiver the man left in quite a hurry. Then I sensed something was not right, so I really looked at my car thinking he must have been worried about something. I was right, the car had quite a few dents and scratches along the top of the car, which I guess I did not see because the truck is pretty tall. I then tried to call this man right away and he didn't answer my calls. I then jumped in the car and went looking for his truck, it was parked about 6 blocks away. I made him get out and look at the damage, he kindly wrote on the contract that he was responsible for the damage. I then contacted him after I got a quote from Toyota, I let him know there was $4,000.00 worth of damage. He then started yelling and said he didn't know what I was talking about and hung up on me, he even shut his cell phone for the day. His insurance company just told me that it was now my problem because I signed the contract stating the car was in good condition, even though three lines below my signature I had him write that the car was damaged while being transported, and also made him sign, date, and initial it. Anyone have any suggestions?
