Fraudulent Charge for "reward" program
Charged my Amex $358 over 2 years for a scam "rewards" program. They are associated with Red Envelope, there is a pop up that asks if you want free shipping and then they charge you $14.95 for as long as you don't notice it on your card. total scam

unauthorized credit card charge
I ordered items from several websites on the internet and I'm not sure which site popped up with an add asking you to sign up for special rewards. I clicked on it saying yes and my credit card was instantly charge for 1.95 from Encore Marketing. I called the company and refused the charges. The person who I spoke with said that my card actually had not been charged yet. If it had not been charged yet - what would the charge be next when I was charged for this rewards program. No place did it mention the rewards program had a fee. I cancelled the rewards program immediately and I pray I do not see any other charges from this company. It is sad when you can't shop on the internet without some company trying to make money off of you. So I just wanted you the public to know. So Buyers beware!

billed for no purchse
I HAVE BEEN BILLED FOR SOMETHING I HAVE NOT PURCHASED FOR 14.95 THROUGH BLAIR AS A THIRD PARTY PURCHASE. I HAVE TRIED TO SETTLE IT WITH BLAIR, BUT THEY SAY IT IS NOT THEIR ACCOUNT. THIS HAS HAPPENED SEVERAL TIMES.

fraudulent practices
I had ordered a jacket from Appleseeds on line and after the transaction was completed a web page followed (pop-up I suppose) telling me that I was entitled to free shipping on my order. My shipping cost was only $5 so I decided not to pursue that. I was also offered a $15 coupon on my next order which I did pursue until I realized I would be signing up for some membership thing I didn't want. So I closed the website without signing up for anything. I didn't notice that my credit card was being charged $14.95 a monthright away, but when I did I hit the roof. Nowhere on the charge was the name Encore Marketing - I found out the name when I called to complain. I complained so vigorously that they offered to refund 12 months of charges to my credit card. That may have been a promise just to get me off the phone.

Then I called Appleseeds to complain about their affiliation with Encore Marketing and got a big runaround from them too. Like it was all my fault that I apparently didn't read every bit of the small print or uncheck some box or other and that I thought I was still dealing with Appleseeds. Appleseeds is complicit in this fraud as is Drapers and Damons. I got hoodwinked by Encore Marketing through Drapers and Damons a couple years ago.

I will pursue this.

I ordered flowers from ProFlower for Mother's Day 2009. They claim I signed up for an easy saver service by supplying an email address. I had no intention of doing so. After recurring monthly charges for 14.95 began appearing on my statement from Encore Marketing, I googled it. There is no mention of the easy saver service on my receipt which I have or the monthly emails I've been receiving from ProFlowers. I called Proflowers and complained and am challenging the credit card charges. This is bad business!!!

Rip off
Has ripped me off unbeknowst to me. My company charge cards had numberous "rewards" charges that I had no knowledge of; out bookkepper had no reason to question the charges.

In one month, I had 2 @$14.95 from Sahalie and 2 @ $14.95 from Solutions. I'm just now getting the full picture, which will be a decent amount, unathorized by anyone in our business.

How do they continue to get away with this? I plan to never shop with a retailer that uses this service. If everyone would boycott these reatilers, we could perhaps shut them out of business? I think we should try.

Unathuorized charges
You are taking money from my account and I never signed up with you. I want you to stop and stop NOW! One more charge and you will be sued. YOu have no right to take money from my account when I signed up for nothing - not for your company or you. You are a rapist to say the least. Give me back my money and do not approach me again. How dare you do something like this and think you can get by with it. Stop this fradulent action at once. I am contacting my bank and notifying them of your fradulent activity. I strongly suggest you refund my money NOW!

Encore marketing fraud
ordered some jeans from Blair clothing I naively signed up in January Blair rewards charge was $1.95. turns out they charge $14.95.per month
have been charged over $100 and received nothing of value.except according to the Blair clothing company I can receive discount on future purchases.
Obviously outrageous and ridiculous seems like it should be considered fraud.
The telephone number listed on my credit card bill is phony they want to charge another fee to give me be real number
telephone number for corporate headquarters Encore marketing is disconnected.
apparently this company has been associating with many other real companies to perpetuate this rewards program scheme for past few years.

Billed for Membership
I realized after looking at a $14.95 charge on my credit card for six months that I had no idea who Encore Marketing was, why they were charging me, when it had been authorized, etc. My wife had the same thoughts. My credit card company would only refund the last three months of charges and said I had to call Encore to get the rest of the money back. I did some research and concluded that a Norm Thompson purchase precipitated this unauthorized, repeating charge, and more research showed that it was for some type of stupid "membership club" for travel, etc. I called Encore and the original operator who answered said she could refund two months of charges. She put me on hold for about 25 minutes while we "waited" for a supervisor. Finally, she came back on and said her supervisor reversed the rest of the charges except for the first month's $1.95 starter charge. I will wait to see if this really happens. She said that we somehow agreed to a receive this membership for one month in exchange for $15 off a $50 Norm Thompson order, but I do no think we have EVER purchased $50 worth of merchandise from Thompson to receive the discount. At any rate, perhaps I did get the discount, but this membership was clearly buried somewhere in the fine print. Those who criticize us for not reading the fine print, give me a break. You know as well as I do that these slimy companies try as hard as they can to hide their true intentions so they can steal from you, hence the small charge monthly that adds up to some big money over time.
