This company left a note and water sample bottle on our mailbox with an offer for free water test. We followed the instructions and sent in a sample. The information on the note indicated that the test results would be reported to us, and a sales offer presented.
When we made an appointment, we were told that the test results would be provided, and the appointment would take about 30 min. After the first appointment was missed, we rescheduled and verified that the test results would be provided with a 30 min sales presentation. When the rep arrived, he told us he did not know what the company did with the water samples supplied, and that he would need to do a sample test to determine the water quality. He also told us that one part of the test would take 30 min alone. We explained to the rep what we had been told, but he was unable to provide any explanation. The rep was very up front about what he would need to go thru for testing and how the sales pitch would be presented. We declined to continue after 40 minutes or reschedule. The rep was friendly, honest, and above board with everything he said and did. The "home office" lied to us about what services they would provide, and the amount of time needed for the appointment - twice (maybe 3 times if you include the note). I am sure there is weasel wording that can be placed around providing "a" test sample result during the appointment, vs. providing the results of the sample provided earlier - but it is unprofessional and misleading at best. Bad business in any case.
