Ernie Haire Ford Reviews

Lemons and Lies
Where do I begin, well the place I bought my 2004 Ford Focus was Ernie Haire Ford used auto mall on Nebraska in Tampa, FL what is now an empty lot but hopefully the whole business goes down because of the absolute disaster that is my car. 1st they put the car in my sisters name because I guess we bought our cars at the same time, then they said since I brought her I was going to get 150 dollars, needless to say that didn't happen and now that I want to trade in my little Lemon I now have to find a way to get my sister from Tampa to Orlando so I can get a reliable car and trade in my piece of crap. Yeah as soon as the warranty was up my engine went to shit, and the car is kicking a lot. Bunch of liars! I don't know about Ford in general but I will NEVER buy one again thanks to your poor business practices. Why do we have to be so weary of salesman when we are buying cars? Its a damn shame and I hope you lose business over this. Made me bitter and broke my trust. Oh and look this up future car owners they got sued for overcharging people for tinting windows. When will it end? Also screwed my parents with a car with a bad fuel injector, cost totaled around 2, 000. And my parents never got the 150 dollars for bringing me in...

Don't Go to Ernie Haire FOrd
I recently tried to purchase a 2008 Ford Focus from Ernie Haire Ford on June 28, 2008. I put 500 dollars down and agreed on a deal. They let me drive home with the Focus for two weeks when I got a call to come back down to the dealership. When I got there they told me my financing did not get approved. When I asked for the vehicle I traded in for the Focus back and my down payment back they said my vehicle was not there and the accountants office was closed and come back the next day. When I returned the next day for my vehicle and down payment, they only had my vehicle ready even after I had called earlier in the day to make sure my check was ready. The manager then told me they would have someone deliver my check to me at work first thing the following morning. When 11am and 3 pm rolled around the next day there still was no check. I was forced to have my father call and demand for my money. They called me back 5 minutes after my dad got off the phone and said my check was at the receptionist office and to pick it up before 9pm. This dealerships customer service was horrible, plus they had total disrespect towards women!!

Poor service
My husband and I went to Ernie Haire Ford on Sat., I went on line got pre-approved (gave my ss#) so they could run it and have that part done. We proceeded to there, when we arrived everyone was eager to help, but as soon as we were turned down the first time, everything came to a stand still. We were walked out to the lot to take a truck or two for a test drive, but that was a run around. We walked in and he wanted to give us the car he wanted us to drive, not the colour we wanted to drive home, so he stated he had to wait for banks to open on Monday to send our credit apps. through. We should have known, because we had to call them, I thought customer service was they call you with every step, not you call them. Then he told us our payments were going to be 400-500 a month, we are trading in our car which is 321 a month to get a lower payment, not higher. I hate when it has to be there way or no way. I hate all the game playing.

Keep away from this dealership!
I recently tried to purchase a new Ford Explorer from Ernie Haire Ford on Florida Ave in Tampa. I put a deposit down on the car and when I went to pick it up, the price somehow changed after I had this in writing from the salesman I was dealing with. Outrageous if you ask me. Please post to keep buyers away from this dealership. Below is the email I received and minutes after put a deposit down on it.

Subject: RE: Your new vehicle

Sorry to hear about the car. I also understand completely about BS like "I need one more car to get bonus" and whatnot - I hate that crap myself that's why I never do it. I cannot comment on anything that Damian said because I am not familiar with his affairs but I can tell you that everything that I personally have discussed with you is 100% accurate - including the part about getting the best deal the day you buy. It's been like that for decades - a great deal can be negotiated over the phone/Internet but the final juice is squeezed out of the grape only when the seller is satisfied that if he meets the buyer's terms that he will indeed sell the vehicle to him then and there. No one wants to waste their time - neither the seller nor the buyer. The other thing is that you can hold someone to a contract but not a price - some dealers will offer you the world over the phone but when you come in things have a way of changing :) I will never do that to you. With that being said:

My manager is willing to sell you our car at $24,300 OTD without the tint and ball (I can get you a ball receiver though at no charge - they just would not know about it :).

I hope that this price will work for you because without you here I cannot work my manager for anything more - getting him to do this without a client to introduce him to in person was hard enough.

As for the EB with the 3rd row - we have them, but again, there is no "best price" to speak of. The "best price" is the price you get right before you purchase the vehicle - nothing is set in stone at a car dealership - everything is negotiable. You may not like hearing it but its true and the truth sometimes has a bitter aftertaste... I will not sugarcoat anything but I will always shoot you straight. I can tell you though that you have obviously done a ton of shopping and you know your prices well and there is no way in hell that my managers would let you go without giving you the "best price" if you were here and made an offer on their vehicle - not after all of this. I hope that you can see by now that I am genuine in my words - I am not just saying a bunch of BS just to get you in here and waste 3 hours of our mutual time.

I am offering to make you a better deal than anyone - you have but to reach out and take it - Isn't coming down and taking what you want better than all of this back and forth? I hope to see you today and I look forward to handing you the keys to your new SUV and putting this matter to an end for all involved.

Thanks for everything!
