Terible service
Do not shop at Ethan Allen Furniture store. It is expensive, and it is not a customer service oriented store. Their service is slow, I can't tell you how long I have waited and waited and waited for calls back, appointments, paperwork, etc. And, when I finally called to talk to the manager, her assistant said she was busy, of course. so I asked for some service regarding an order, and explained that I wanted to finally talk to a manager to relate what was happening to me and how dissatisfied I was. The next day, the assistant called me back instead of the manager. Apparently, this again proved that customers are not a high priority here. These people are so unorganized that customer service is all but impossible. No one gives a flying fudgesicle in this store. I have never really had such a bad experience anywhere where I have spent so much money... $10, 000 +. It is amazing that no one from upper management called immediately to apologize, or smooth things out or anything. Do not shop here...and I have heard all their stores are the same. The employees are unhappy, the customers are unhappy, people are suing them...and it amazes me they are still in business. Bad business people.

Delivery policy
Ordered two chairs, end table, and bench, custom covered, in November 2008. Told 6 weeks turn around maybe 8. The chairs and end table came in but not the bench. Told one week, it was in California; next week it was on the East Coast, next week Minneapolis, MN--a traveling bench that never arrived after 4 MONTHS wait. Store will NOT refund deposit, won't do a thing other than "take the bench or not". So we told them to keep the bench and they can consider our downpayment of $200 as payment for the negative advertising they will get on their store! The little guy can now advertise thanks to the internet. Oh, to boot they had a very condescending attitude. The hard times must not affect Ethan Allen because they sure don't mind driving away customers!
