Poor response to complaints and customer service!
My expereience with Etihad airlines would be the first and the last after July 9, 2011. My family and I have been travelling to India from Canada for the past 10 years, several times. Sometimes, several times in a year. We have always travelled by Emirates and had the best possible service.
This year my dad decided to book with Etihad to see how the flight would be and we got the ticket for a little cheaper (as there was a cancellation).
Issue:
My brother and I were late at the baggage area of the airport by three mins. Though we had already checked in (via online), they did not make any effort whatsoever to check the baggage in. There was not one person at the counter to help! Not one. By the look of the surroundings, it looked like they had closed the area before the actual time (before 9:45 pm). There was one Etihad staff walking around. So, we go to him asking for help. He did not give us any help, no contact information, no resources on what to do next. All he said was, "You have to re-book".
Once I got home, I called the toll-free number of Etihad airlines. I was put on hold for over an hour! In the end, I decided to leave a voice message. I also emailed them regarding our problem. After four days, I still have not gotten any response from them.
I decided to leave feedback on their website. Left three complaints regarding their crew, their customer service, and their response to complaints. I stil have not recieved any response.
After contacting our travel agency, we are required to pay $575 per person (total $1150) to rebook a flight, just cause we missed the flight by three mins! That's heartbreaking. We don't have that much money right now. And, if we cancel the tickets, then we are losing about $1400 dollars.
If there's any possible way, someone can help us by forwarding this message to the rightful owners and get us some help, it would be much appreciated.

LOST Baggage
I have Lost one Baggage during my flight from Abu Dhabi to Beirut with my family as a visitors to Beirut.
Four baggages out of five were received at the destination point last 26 June, 2011. Till date there is no call /response received from Etihad airlines nor acknowledging what is the next process.
I called the baggage lost centre in Abu Dhabi, asking to be compensated for not having my stuff for my trip daily use but the one answering the phone pretend deaf and not giving neither a comment nor an apology for the fault of losing the baggage

inhumane crime
i had a serious fall diembarking at abu dhabi airport flight ey 451 20/11/2007 injured leg and back
etihad has been denying me much needed finacial aid and urgent medical treatment
because of etihad delay and denial of medical care in confined to a wheelchair for the rest of my life
and loss of bowl motion
this is a srious crime a major airline denying liability to an injured passenger
e-mailed all in charge of airline etihad even ceo but they all pushed me away as if i didnot exist
my solicitor talked to the airline solicitor and told him give this man some money or lets settle the claim
the etihad solicitor replied what do you think etihad is a charity organization
this is the crime of the century

Rude Air hostess
I traveled by Etihad Airlines on October 23rd 20101, from India to Chicago via Abu Dhabi, Flight number EY151. I had asked for non-veg meals, and was served vegetarian by air hostess Eloysa. When I requested for a change of meal, she refused and gave me the veg meal. During lunch, she served me again veg meal, but another air hostess offered non-veg meal. A I began to eat, Air hostess Eloisa came and started questioning me that how can I eat non veg when I refused to eat veg food. She started telling me very rudely that I cannot ask for a food change. Her rude behavior insulted me very much in front of all other passengers and I could not eat the food. I returned the food without eating and starved for the rest of the flight. I have not seen such a cheap airhostess fighting for the food with the passenger. She is an insult to the airlines and must be advised to be polite with passengers.

Lost our luggage and completely ignored our claim
Etihad lost our luggage coming back from Pakistan to New York. After filing out lost luggage form and obtaining claim number we were told someone from Etihad will get get back to us as they needed at least 2 weeks to find out what happened to our luggage. After 2 weeks, no word from Etihad so we decided to call the number on the lost luggage claim form. This number was supposedly provided in case you have a question regarding your case. Spoke to the Swiss Post manager and he promised to call us back in another 2 weeks as he supposedly investigate what happened. We never heard from anyone since. He was either away from his desk and on our last contact we were told he was away on vacation. Sent letters and called their various offices and we received nothing but silence from Etihad. It's been 2 yrs now since we took that flight with Etihad and we still have yet to hear from them. Needless to say, we will never ever fly with them.

Flight Cancellation
HI my booking reference no is 2LOUM7.
I was supposed to board flight EY 100 from JFK to Abu Dhabi. The flight got cancelled and I was stuck in New York for 24 hours. I had observed a few guests being given alternate flights and the rest of us just had to stay on.
I was in US for a company trip on per day paid basis. Since my days of stay were over, I was stuck in NY without any money, the baggage was already checked in, therefore I did not have any change of clothes too. I wear contact lenses and had assumed I would be in delhi by the time I needed to refresh my medically prescribed lenses, the medical supplies for which were not available at the airport, nor near the Airport Hotel location. I did not even have the money to take a cab and cater to me medical needs. I have undergone mental trauma, harassment and physical pain because of Etihad.
I agree, the airline provided us with a hotel. (horrible one) but the inconvenience I have had to undergo was enormous. I missed my office which is a direct pay cut from my salary as I was not supposed to be on leave.
Your ground staff did not provide us with accurate information and I was rendered tired, broke and frustrated.I work for a 65000 people organisation and I am definitely going to communicate this to my company travel desk to blacklist Etihad unless I am compensated for my loss and harassment and obviously word of mouth matters. All the passengers I spoke to that day said the same thing " Etihad - never again".I want to be contacted immediately and want this discussion to take place in a very professional manner and not the Etihad way.

Transit visa
Hi
I'm on a South African passport and had arranged a short stopover (less than 24 hours) in Abu Dhabi on my way from London to Australia.
I spent the last 2 weeks chasing various people in Etihad Airlines (both in London and Abu Dhabi) and nobody was able to help me. I got passed on from one person to the next and eventually I was told that Abu Dhabi no longer offer this visa as its too much administration.
I went to the UAE embassy and enquired 2 weeks ago, and they were also very surprised that the airline would not offer this.
I was then asked to contact hotels to arrange this, and I contacted the 4 biggest hotel chains that I knew but they advised that they donot arrange this visa for short visas, and the airline should arrange this.
I then got referred to the website : www.moieserv.ae to get an e-visa, but again I was told that the airline organises transit visas, not the department of naturalisation.
As a last resort, I tried to book the transit hotel, but this was fully booked.
I also tried to get my flight changed or cancelled and Etihad wouldnot allow this under any circumstances and I would have lost the price of my entire ticket. I have also lodged a compliant on the Etihad website but have received no response in the last 2 weeks.
I am now flying on Friday, and I'm going to be stuck at the airport for a whole day and night with nowhere to sleep or anything. I am most disappointed with my experience with Etihad Airlines and I would never fly with them again.

Re scheduling
I am travelling by Flight from last 10 plus years, but i have not come across services as bad as service of flights from Abu Dhabi sector. The first time I travelled in Etihad was in year 2006 and it was good and this time I have travelled in Etihad both by business and economy class, the business class service has come down to the level of service which I use to receive in economy class during my travel in 2006, so you can imaging how worse the service of economy class will be.
Over and above that the ticketing office employees at Abu Dhabi Airport are so arrogant and ill informed that you will get very upset and disturbed after talking to them. I had a business class ticket for my wife & son, which I wanted to reschedule and I was told by call centre staff that I have to pay Dhs. 100 for the changes based on which I send across my driver, but on arrival of my driver at Etihad ticketing office in Airport, he was been told that I have to pay Dhs 800 as it is a promotional ticket, which was incorrect as I was holding a regular ticket. Further the Abu Dhabi Air port ticketing office staff named Mirza & Honey where not ready to speak on phone neither they where picking up the line at their office and they where not ready to speak to any of the call centre staff, who were desperately trying to reach them to resolve the issue and after waiting for almost 3 hrs my driver came back. Again I called up the call centre to provide me a solution and they have told me that they will call back. I am waiting for their response.

Change of return dates
Hi there!
Its me dr faisal khan, refference no 2YECKL.I have booked the flights from london to islamabad & return tickets.Now my mother in law is unwell and she is on death bed.I want to delay the flights of my family(wife & Kid).
The etihad office in islamabad is refusing to extend their flights, eventhough I am happy to pay for the change.
Even my traveling agent is refusing to change the dates.
I will be thankfull, if u help me on humanitarian basis.

Double charging!
I had paid charges of 209.05 A$ (for excess weight) to ETIHAD AIR LINES in CAIRO AIR PORT on 30/12/2007 with my Master Card. But when checking my bill, I found that they charged me with double the amount. The same payment came in two lines with the same amount of 209.05A$.

Date: 30/12/2007. The Master Card company said that the error should be corrected from the AirLine Company and they cannot do anything about it.
