To whom it may concern,
I hope my complaint doesn't come across deaf ears.Iwas a passenger with etihad airways returning to melbourne from beirout on the 30 th of june, as my brother was coming from U.S.A.I extended my stay till the 4th of july 2009, as i haven't seen my brother for the last 5 years. As you know there is a penalty fees of US 39 dollars plus US 30 dollars i paid to the travel agent.On the 4th .7 .09 I went to airport in beirout waited for an hour in the line at the etihad counter, when my turn came up the guy at the service desk asked me to go to M.E.A. counter . I told him i am with etihad, he said no you with M.E.A. i showed him my ticket explaining to there is no indication of M.E.A. Any way i went to the M.E.A. counter and they were closed, which is no more check in.Someone advised me to go to the M.E.A.office which is located down stairs, their answer was to go to the etihad office upstairs and their office was closed for the weekend.All i did went back home which is an hour and a half away from the airport.
Then on monday 6th .7.09 I went to the travel agent explaining what had happened and he blamed the airport for not telling me that theM.E.A. Takes the etihad passengers on that day . I lost my seat and i had to pay US 732 dollars plus US 10 to the travel agent to get another seat.
To be honest i was very happy to travel with etihad but after my experience i will think twice again or go back to my first airline EMIRATES .
I will be very happy if you give my complaint your very concern and attention .
