Examiner.com Reviews

scammed by Examiner.com February 28, 2011
Withholding pay
After writing for Examiner.com for nearly a year, I have not received the compensation as outlined in the contract I signed at the start of my employment. In addition, I have not received payment for referring other writers to Examiner.com, who WERE signed on, and published on the site. My page was taken down when I complained. I was also sent disparaging emails when I questioned the CEO's pay compared to the contributing writers' pay (or lack thereof). Many of my articles that had a high volume of "hits" were said to "not meet the local criteria for pay", and I only received pennies for writing them. In an attempt to see how well-controlled Examiner.com's hiring process is, I reapplied for a different writing position when my previous postion "was no longer needed". I was accepted right away, and back on-line with publishing access within days. When I asked the question, "Who has received the incentive $50 pay for bringing in other Examiners" on the Examiner Facebook page, I was"defriended' and my comment was quickly taken down.

Witholding payment
Join the fight and file your complaint with the BBB today. We need to ban together to stop Examiner.com from doing this to other people and the public must be made aware of their questionable business practices

If you were part of the people who weren't paid in June, 2010 from Examiner.com this is for you. I have sent a complaint to the Denver BBB and have contacted the Colorado State Attorney's office in reference to the nasty grams that went out on July 16, 2010 telling you that you were locked of your account.

What they are doing is illegal and to make matters worse is they contradicting their own terms and conditions of our contracts!

A contract is an agreement between two or more parties that creates an obligation to do or not do something. A breach of contract is the existence of an agreement or bargained-for exchange where one of the parties fails, without a legally valid excuse, to live up to his or her responsibilities under the contract.
A breach of contract usually occurs by one or more of the parties in one of the following ways:

* Failing to perform as promised.
* Making it impossible for the other party to perform.
* Making it known there is an intention not to perform.

A contract may be breached in whole or in part.

For those like me who intend to seeks damages if this isn't resolved IMMEDIATELY:

Damages. Damages are payment in one form or another paid by the breaching party to the non-breaching party. There are four basic types of damages: (1) compensatory damages, which serve to place the non-breaching party in the position the party would have been in if the breach had not occurred; (2) nominal damages, which constitute a token award of damages where there has been no actual money loss to the non-breaching party, or when the non-breaching party's performance was not without its own negative aspects; (3) liquidated damages, which are a specific amount of damages agreed to at the time the contract was first entered into; and (4) punitive damages (rarely given in contract actions), which are damages paid to the non-breaching party above and beyond what would make that party whole and also serve to punish the breaching party.

Additionally, after some quick research including visiting the Denver BBB site, you will see that Examiner.com has had prior as well as current issues. And, there are various complaints on boards such as:

1. Ripoffreport.com
2. Complaintsboard.com
3. WritersWeekly.com
4. Sitejabber.com

Here is my BBB information so you know I'm not kidding:

Examiner Screwed me July 19, 2010
Withholding pay
Examiner.com has withheld money I earned as an independent contract (writer) for them. The amount due now totals over $1300 for June and July 2010 payments. After many attempts to at least be kept informed, they announced that they would be withholding my earned pay because my methods of promotion of my articles was not within their terms of agreement. I never signed any contract stating I could not use the means of promotion that I did.

They are making millions off of their examiners, and once someone earns a little money the refuse payment. If there is an attorney out there willing to take on Clarity Digital Group, LLC you would have a class action suite with hundreds and maybe even thousands of claims.

Examiner.com withholding earned pay
Examiner.com has withheld money I earned as an independent contract (writer) for them. The amount due now totals over $6000 for February and March 2010 payments. After many attempts to at least be kept informed, they announced that they would be withholding my earned pay because my methods of promotion of my articles was not within their terms of agreement.

I never signed any contract stating I could not use the means of promotion that I did. Therefore, I am owed the money earned and I am now seeking damages.

I have filed complaints with both the BBB and the Colorado State Attorney General's office.

DO NOT WORK OR WRITE FOR EXAMINER.COM

non-payment for services
DO NOT write for Examiner.com. They WILL NOT pay you unless you've written 100 articles for them and even then they will make excuses.
They are the biggest liars I've come across.
Boycott Examiner.com in your city. They are bogus! They don't pay their writers!

not paid for services
I have been waiting three months to get the measly $11.00 that Examiner.com owes me for my posted articles that I wrote for them on their site. They call it an "issue" and have an empty excuse every month for not paying me. WARNING to anyone who might want to write for them, you won't get paid.

Job Scam
Job scam posted on careerbuilder.com which is nothing more than a phishing for online colleges scheme run by Three Stars Media in Orlando much like their former world voice report. You apply for the job and then you get harrassed on the phone by online degree mills. No thank you.
