Reserved (weeks in advance) a room for New Years Eve.
We were directed to a seedy motel BEHIND the hotel pictured on Expedia (and not seen from the road) that was filthy and had a HUGE mold patch above the stained old steel tub.
In a nutshell, we refused to stay in this gross dump and gave our passkey back to the front desk, asking that they reimburse us.
They told us Exedia had to do so.
We called Expedia - they told us the hotel had to agree to reimburse us and had opted not to based on reservation policies.
I told them the accomodations were NOT what was advertised and they sent us a waiver about 'pictures not being accurately depicted'.
I had every right to refuse this room based on the disgusting condition of it - AND I was there with my family. I'm not exposing my kids to that kind of trashy place.
They have refused to reimburse me and continue to tell me my problem is with the hotel, not with them.
Hmmmm ... they took the reservation, they falsely depicted the hotel and they accepted credit card payment.
Of COURSE they have a hand in this.
Disgusting - we drove home that night - 2 hours on New Years Eve rather than tolerate this moldy, creepy motel. :P
