Expo Furniture Reviews

Not replace defect item/dishonest
Alert to this furniture. It located at the Puente Hill Mall. Near by the Costco. Their furniture looks good price, I just received two Cherry wood desks, upon delivered, I noticed the color was faded and looked very cheap. The drivers told me that as long as I don't sign, they will return to the factory and redeliver the good one to us. It sounds fair. The next day I went to Expo again to reassure the desk that I ordered, indeed, the desk looks very rich in style. My sales rep. David was not work that day, I talked another salesmen, and he told me the same thing as the driver. I just be patient wait for the 2nd delivery. But one week later, I called the store; my sales-David transferred my call to the store manager- Richard. Richard was rude and yelling over the phone that either I take that original desks that the drivers deliver to me or he will charge me 33% restocking fee. So BE ALERT!! Expo Furniture is like a robber. If you want to buy from them, watch out your money is go to their pocket and without any customer service or return policy protection.

If you pay by credit card like me, my discover card told me since I already signed the agreement that in any cancellation of sale or order by buyer, I will be pay a 33% restocking charge of the total purchase price to EXPO Furniture. Please think twice, if you want to deal with this store. They don't listen to customers. They behave nice when you want to buy from them, if you don't pay 100% attention, which is they intend to make you not to look up the purchase agreement they specially designed for their own good and nothing for consumers. I don't want you to be upset like me. I didn't receive my two cherry wood desks. My discover card told me that they will credit me money but will deduct 33% restocking fee. I told my credit card company that why should I get charge for 33%, she said, you signed the store agreement, for any reason if I cancel the sale or order. I will get charge.

Please be alert this company, they for sure not like Costco, Target or the entire merchant in the USA. Expo Furniture is non protection to customers. They should be out of business from USA. If you ever want to buy from Expo Furniture, just think about that you are buying from flea market. You give away your customer service privilege. For rating to this store, I hate to say, but, this is the only store in my 25 years shopping experience, I would give the word: DO NOT BUY FROM THIS STORE.

If you really want to buy, look one more time on the purchase agreement, you are sign for a store, that tell you if dare to return the item you buy, we will charge you 33%, even for the defected item. You just have to take it as is. Expo Furniture is the robber. Stay away from this store. They have chain store all over the S. California. Their warehouse is in Cerrito.

Terrible company
Purchased a sleeper sofa in March 2008 and by the summer it was broken. It was only used as a bed three times over all those months. The sofa bed leaned back too far according my my guest and then all of a sudden would not push into a couch, thus leaving me with a bed 24/7 and no where to sit. I called Expo they said they would fix it, they sent the same sales man who sold it to me to look at it, and he took pictures and said I jumped on it. He also mentioned that it could have become faulty due to customers sitting on it, which leads me to believe I was given a floor model which was not part of my agreement. I said that of course I did not jump on it, and neither would any of my guests. They then preceded to tell me that they would call to let me know when they would send someone to repair it in 4 weeks. They never called. I called them and they gave me the run around, and then connected me with their manager and he said we jumped on the bed and that's why it will not fold in, thus voiding the one year warranty and this is the same conclusion the manufacturer states according to them. I'm a 76 year old woman. I do not jump, nor do my guest, on any beds. They refuse to fix, replace, or refund the couch, any of which I would accept. The sofa bed was never misused or 'abused' as they state. They are trying to accuse the sofa's manufacturer defect as abuse on my part, and it is outrageous. If they had a qualified repair person look at it that was unbiased, I would have more respect for their decision. Bottom line, this piece of furniture should not break in under a year with its minimal amount of usage. The sales man who 'took pictures' came to the conclusion that I jumped on the bed. How he is qualified to make that judgment? When I know that no one misused it? And the manufacturer says the same thing? I don't think so! They are using false information to get out of the warranty. They refuse to answer my questions or help me and have been EXTREMELY rude to me. I am currently processing a small claims report. I am very disappointed that it had to go this far. I urge people not to do business with these people/company! Their products are cheap, unreliable, with horrible craftsmanship. They should be ashamed of their treatment of a senior citizen, but I am not going to lay down and let them steal money from me. I know they will go out of business soon, how can a company with low quality and bad ethics stick around anyway. Consumers beware! Do your research!
