In 2002 I had fallen behind on some bills and went online to find a cash advance loan. I filled out paperwork with Express Cash. They then called me and subsequently faxed over a package for me to fill out and fax back with a bank check. I did as instructed, and the next day I had $300 deposited into my checking account. For the next three months, Express Cash took money out of my checking account, to the tune of $486. I called and asked them why they had collected $186 in interest, when the terms where to pay back the loan plus $35 ($335). They said that the loan amount had to be paid all at once ($335), and since they were only taking money out the interest portion every two weeks, I still owed them $300. I explained that I had been told over the phone that they would automatically withdraw smaller amounts each pay day (every two weeks) until the loan, plus interest was paid. The girl said that I whoever had told me that had been confused. I pointed out that I had already paid them $486 for a $300 loan. That's more than 50% interest, and that I would not pay them another penny. I then called my bank and asked them to place a stop payment on anything from Express Cash Loans. I never heard back from them again.

Fast forward to October 2006. I call the bank to find out why there is an electronic withdrawal on my account for $100. They informed me that it was from Express Cash Loans. I told my bank officer the whole story, and how I had placed a stop payment back in 2002 because they refused to stop taking my money. The bank submitted the information to the fraud department, and I got my $100. We also placed another stop payment against any transaction by Express Cash. In March of 2007 I notice that there is a withdrawl of $200 on my account. I call the bank to report it as a mistake, and I find out that it is once again Express Cash Loans. Once more I had to go through the fraud department and place another stop payment on any transactions from Express Cash Loans. However, the stop payment did not take effect for 48 hours, and in that time Express Cash put through another withdrawal for $100. My account became overdrawn and I was charged $32 by my bank on top of the $100. Boy, I was mad! I called the bank again, and after ten days I was finally able to get my money, and bank fee back. By this time my mortgage payment was late because I was missing the money that Express Cash had taken. So, I ended up paying my lender an additional fee of $35 for my mortgage.

Express Cash Loan sent me a letter last week telling me that they were sending my account to collections and it would be reported to the credit bureaus. I called the number and got a lady in accounting who said that they had taken over the accounting for Express Cash Loans, and that they had no idea who had paid, and who had not because there was no accounting department for a long time. I explained everything to her and she said in a very nasty tone, "Do you have any proof that you paid us $486?" I explained that just like they had taken my money out last month, they had taken all the money out in 2002. She said that I would have to provide the proof. I then called my bank, and because it was done five years ago, I need to pay for them to research the account ($35 per hour). Hell No!!!

I called back Express Cash Loans and told the lady in accounting that I will not pay for their mistake. She informed me that I will have to pay the stop payment fee every time they process the transaction, and that they would continue to try to get their money for the rest of my natural life. Have you ever heard anything so ridiculous!!!

I cannot understand how these places stay in business. Do not get a cash advance loan through these people. They are LOAN SHARKS!!!!
