Despite being informed of my wife's mental illness which prevents her from being able to make sound decisions on her own behalf, the shysters at American Suzuki signed her up for a $20K car loan.

I spoke to the salesman over the phone and informed him of my wife's condition and that she had just changed medications that morning and was clearly not in her right mind and shouldn't be allowed to sign the contract... the salesman gave the phone to a floor manager to whom I told the same thing. They couldn't let a little thing like mental illness stand in the way of a good commission so they made the deal anyway.

Less than 90 minutes later I went to the dealership with the car and the contract and begged the manager of the dealership to let my wife out of the contract, explained the circumstances to him and was told I should take them to court because there was no way he was going to overturn a deal with a qualified buyer. (she's only qualified because of her payment history on her old car, which I have been paying for for the last 4 1/2 years)

My wife went to the dealership in the first place in response to a piece of junk mail promoting a win a free car contest. We discussed that morning that she would try out her key to see if it was a winner and if not, she would leave in her 2003 Taurus (with 2 payments remaining) and take the kids to lunch. She had no intention of buying a new car and turning her 2 month deal into a 5 yr commitment on a lesser vehicle.
The high-pressure sales tactics and who gives a damn about the customer attitude employed by Extreme Suzuki was more than enough to take advantage of a mentally impaired mother of two and convince her to agree to buy a car. She works part time for $7.50 and hour and will barely be able to put gas in the car, let alone make the payments.

Neither Extreme Suzuki or American Suzuki Automotive Credit could care less about that.
