I had a bad experience with EZ Furniture Assembly (owned by Chris Purnell) this week. About a week ago I called to get an estimate on a job to take a part, move and reassemble my couch, along with moving a dresser, mattress and desk. Chris said it would be no problem and that he would call me back to confirm that he was available for the job. He did not call me back that day. When I tried calling Monday, I got his voicemail and left a message. Tuesday I was able to get ahold of his assistant (Eric/Ernie?) who kept mistaking me for a different client, but finally found a note mentioning me. While he did not have a confirmation for me, he assured me "one-thousand percent" that Chris would call me that night after 7pm -- he didn't. I even sent an email that day, but did not receive an answer.

Wednesday morning, I called and left a message. Later on that day I got a call saying that he could do the move (after having my doubts, I was feeling reassured), although he was unable to give me an estimate. Nevertheless, he assured me that he would be at my place Friday at 2pm and said he would call me later on Wednesday with the exact price -- he didn't call.

Thursday, I attempted to call several times, with the call going to voicemail every single time. That evening, I left a message saying that it had been over 24 hours and I had not heard back from him and I was getting concerned and wanted to know how much I would need to pay so that I could get the cash out of the ATM before he arrived.

On Friday morning, I called several times, with the phone ringing 1-3 times and then going to voicemail. In my message, I told him that he was supposed to be coming that day and I still have not heard from them. After he didn't show up at 2pm, I left Chris Purnell a message letting him know that it was very poor business to be late (or in this case flake completely), especially without calling in advance. I have yet to hear from Chris.

Do not waste your time with EZ Furniture Assembly or Professional Furniture Assembly (he has 2 names for his business). I've called a different mover/assembler that gave me a price right away and will be coming tomorrow.
