This company worked on the top half of a Honda Civic engine head which had warped due to broken water pump and overheating. We specifically asked Family Auto to roll up the windows and lock the car while it was on their lot. We asked for a report prior to work being done.
They called and said they had already had the top "re-milled" and the engine put together. When I went to pick up the car, the windows were rolled down, and there was about 2" of water inside in the front compatment. One of the seat's upper upholstery was ripped on the top side.
The car was driven home, then to work, a total of 25 miles when it overheated. It was towed back to their shop, and the mechanic said they had forgotten to shorten 4 bolts to match the newly milled size. I asked the owner what they planned to do about it since they had given us a 90 day guarantee. The owner denied what the mechanic said and told us we had a leaky radiator. We replaced the radiator, and the car overheated the next time it was driven. Family Automotive of Kaneohe they said it wasn't their fault.
The radiator was taken back by the company who installed it, thankfully, and our original radiator put in. Another shop made the proper engine repair. Family Auto refused to refund any money on the job and we sued in Small Claims court where Family Auto lied about the whole thing, but were forced to live up to their warranty anyway and refund the repair. Nothing was ever done about the water damage and the torn upholstery.
