Bad experience
My expirence at Famous Hair in Meadville PA. I went in for highlights and a cut. Sat down in the chair, explained i wanted beach highlights( subtle, none chunky, highlights). My stylist, Janine(also the manager) started my consult, gave me the book to pick out a swatch, and then confers with her boss(who was there because they had just got back from unemployment court because one of there past stylist was trying to collect blah blah blah- professionalism is not key at Famous Hair- i knew the whole story, the girls first and last name, and heard what a low life she was). Janine's boss reccommended foils, which Janine was not planning to do, but agrreed and as soon as her boss was out of ear shot commented it didnt make sense, but she had to do it cause her boss said. So she is doing my hair, gets it foiled and sits me in the back. She starts anthor womans hair color, tells a stylist to check me every 5 minutes( a stylist she had told me hates her job when she walked by us) because she would be busy doing this other womans hair. So the 2nd stylist checks me a couple times, tells Janine im done. Janine comes over, says "We need to get her rinsed now" hurries me to the shamppo chair, literally is ripping the foils out of my head, tells the stylist next to us to stop doing her client and help get the foils out. She rinses my head, gives me a mirror and says "How do you like it?" I was in shock when i looked in the mirror. I told hermy hair was white. She procceds to tell me it was not white and any stylist would not consider that white. She gives me the book of color agian and tells me to pick out a toner color, puts it in my hair(which when i get home i realize she didnt put it all the way through and i had parts of my hair still shockingly white, and other parts where she left 2-3" un toned from the scalp). She hands me a mirror, snottly ask me if thats the color i want. I tell here i cant tell the color cause it is soaking wet with toner. She rinses it, tells me to walk to her chair, and before i can sit down i see the ORANGE! I got pissed, turned to her and told her this is totally not what i wanted. She intern tells me she knew i was trying to get a free service from the minute i walked in there. I call anthor stylist over and ask her if she see's orange in my hair, she agrees that she does. I ask for the owners name and number. Janine tells me this is not owned by a private owner, this is a Regis Salon( she says this as if im supposed to be intimated)and if i wanted the number i could look it up my self. I told her i refused to pay for the service until i had her business card, the companies number, and herboss's name. She continually refused. We are standing at the register( my hair a ball of knots, and soaking wet) arguing in front of a lobby full of customers and she turns her back to me and tells the stylist behind her" Can you believe how much of my time this woman has wasted?" She finally hands me the names and numbers i requested on a Post It note, i hand her my debit card, and as we are waiting for it to go through i tell her she should work on her customer service skills, and she intern says to me " No honey, i think you need to work on your personality skills." So i paid $100 for a crappy highlight, no cut, and to be belittled. I called corperate, played phone tag with a lady for about a week and then just figured word of mouth would do far more damage to this sham of a company then trying to get my $100's back. Funny little extra is, i had a friend ask me where i got it done, i told her, and she just started laughing. She told me when she worked at JcPenney'ssalon they were forever having people come in there to fix their Famous Hair haircuts. Anthor little note, i guess it should of been a sign that they had a Post It note at there desk that read "All Haircut Redos must only be done by Management"...i guess its an on going problem this place has...huh?
