Customer Service/Envelope Pick-up
I went in to a shipping service in my area to send a document FedEx Priority Overnight to my aunt in Dallas, Texas. I wanted to make life easier for her so I even paid for the return sticker and stuck it to another Priority Overnight return envelope back to me.
After the document and enclosed check was ready for pick-up I called the FedEx 800 number and scheduled a pick-up on Thursday so I would have it in my hands Friday morning. I was asked for the telephone number, then zipcode of pick-up. The gentleman asked how I wished to pay for the package. I explained to him that I had already paid for it and the return label and envelope had been enclosed in envelope that I had sent earlier so all that had to be done was to have a driver pick it up. I asked if he would like the Tracking # or Package ID#. I was told it was not necessary...
I received a call from my aunt that FedEx never came to pick up the envelope. I called the FedEx 800 number again and explained that the my envelope had never been picked up. I was asked for my pick-up #, which I gave to her. I was told by the young lady that when the driver showed up he was told that there wasn't any such package for pick up at that address. She then read off an address that WAS NOT my aunt's. I told her that was not the address. She then used the telephone number to verify we were speaking about the correct pick-up. The telephone number WAS correct but the ADDRESS the driver was sent to WAS NOT!
After speaking to someone further up on the "food chain" with a fancy title I was told that the only thing that could be done was to schedule a pick-up for tomorrow, Friday. Wow, what great customer service! One problem, with a Friday pick-up for a Priority Overnight will place the envelope in my hands on Saturday and I am unable to hand deliver it to the individual it was intended for because their office is CLOSED ON SATURDAY!
When I told the higher-up on the "food chain" with the fancy title that I wanted a letter from FedEx admitting their screw-up I was told that the only thing the letter would say was that an attempt was made to pick a Priority Overnight envelope was made at the address they had in the FedEx system!!! No admission of their screw-up, just the "facts" as they show it.
My intention this evening is to search out every last customer complaint website on the Internet and cut and paste just what I have written here, and tomorrow tell anyone and everyone that FedEx not only screwed up and dropped the ball but can't even own up to it!
Do I really believe that anything that I do or say will bring FedEx to a screeching halt - no, but with the way American's are viewing large corporations and how they do business on a day-to-day basis perhaps knowing that people just may not think of FedEx as their first choice for their shipping needs might make someone sit up and take notice in the "ivory tower."

Fake home delivery
I brought a desk lamp for my study desk last Sunday on Walmart and it is shipped by FedEx home delivery. Tracking by FedEx system yesterday and it indicated the package was due to delivered today. Waited at home the whole morning without any knock or call and I get a "Delivery exception" for FedEx "cause I wasn't at home"...
Called customer service and they ask me to find a door tag... Of cause there isn't any door tag there... I have a clear view of the apartment entrance road and no FedEx truck showed up today unless they use invisible truck with invisible driver...
As I remenber, we used to get some package from FedEx around 5 - 6pm just a few days ago. It is strange that they decided "Delivery exception" much earlier...Must be a FAKE delivery attempt... Let's what they will do tomorrow...
Whatever the outcome is, this is the last time I use FedEx...

Undelivered Package
Here are the facts.
At 12:15 pm, Thursday February 3rd, 2011 I took in a package to be delivered to Hammond, 30 miles away.
I paid almost $20 for it to be delivered Friday.
All day my recipient waited for the package.
Throughout the day, repeated references to the website said the package was "in transit" and "on schedule."
It was a ground delivery and the website said for FREIGHT deliveries there might be a delay, but ground delivery would not be delayed in Louisiana.
At 4:00 I called to find out what the delay was and was told the package was still in Baton Rouge.
Because of 'inclement weather' ELSEWHERE their freight trucks hadn't arrived so they didn't deliver my package.
The weather in Baton Rouge and Hammond was forecasted to be icy, but we only got rain in the morning. It wasn't even freezing rain.
So I paid to have a package delivered on Friday that I'm now being told won't go out till "Monday, Tuesday at the latest."

Broke almost all of my belongings
FedEx shattered almost everything in my package, i paid for $200.00 insurance on my package plus shipping.and they sent me a check for $113.40
that does not cover even half of what they broke. the box looked like they ran it over.is what my family said when they recieved it.i have used FedEx a lot in the last three years.i ship about 3 packages a month.if they don't fix this i will never use there service again. what i shipped was antiques for my granddaughter. things that were her great great grandmothers on both sides of her family. they can not be replaced.if they make things right with me i will gladly come back and leave a better comment.but right now i am very disapointed.

Ring theft
Federal Express delivered a breach package to my door with an expensive watch. The watch had been stolen while the driver pleaded she needed to deliver all the packages in her truck. Federal Express meanwhile did the investigation which attempts to defer the breach to others as in myself as the reciever. Fortunately I took pictures of the package presented and called police to file a theft report. After 6 weeks still no insurance money from the shipper of record. Upon review of Fed Express securtiy reports and the insurance carrier of record emails bewteen the two question my integrity siting "something's strange" with this package? To the inside theives at Fed Express good job of concealing your ring, perhaps someone inside Fed Express security is on the take???? Bottom line use the US POSTAL service they need the revenue.

Unfair treatment
I have been an employee at fedex since December of 2009 and I have never had any problems until now. I work in a building called SPSS on the second floor under Rosie Muhummad. Me and a few other women have noticed she treats the males better than the females and it just is not right. She gets upset with the women for wearing different color coats or undershirts and writes us up or even threaten to send us home. When a male is wearing differetn color coats they DO NOT get the same treatment at all. I do not think it is fair for the women to have to freeze because of what they do not have or have to buy a coat when they do not have the money for it. If this situation continues I will surely be leaving Fedex!

Lousy claims settling of damaged shipment
I really wish that I had seen this site before I chose my shipper. The shipper was Federal Express Ground Shipping and the package was insured. When shipping a very expensive wheelchair, we very, very carefully packed it with styrofoam and newspaper. The wheelchair was shipped in a doublewall corrugated paper container properly sized and then properly packed with shipping materials. When taken to the shipping location, the clerk there looked at what we had done, approved it, and watched us tape the box and place the shipping label. When it arrived at the destination, the chair was damaged in a way that could only indicate that the box had been dropped from some distance sideways causing the chair to have its backrest L-brackets and J-hooks damaged rendering the chair unusable until repaired. The inspector that was sent made the judgement that the packing was inadequate and then refused the claim. Now the chair is unusable until I pay for what should be their responsibility and they seem to think I have no further recourse. Perhaps the only recourse I have is to advise any and all--Do Not USE Federal Express for any shipping as they will not honor their commitment to good customer service and will always place the blame on the customer rather than the company.

Bad service
I paid to have a package shipped overnight from Santa Rosa California to Berkeley California which is less than 100 miles away. It was supposed to arrive by 3:00 p.m. When it did not I called and the Fedex representative and she said that the problem was the weather in Memphis?????? Not knowing where my package was coming from she took a wild shot at an excuse ;). I have been waiting most of the day for this package (cell phone for myself and elderly parents. They broke their last one. Oops. Anyhow told the rep that I was going to twitter every 10 minutes until the package arrive and miraculously the truck arrived. No coincidence folks. They overbook and hope no one complains if you complain, then they deliver on time. I could call and make them reduce the charge, but I am not going to this time, because the sending company is Sonic.net. And they do everything thing they can to provided good customer service.
**Update. Because of my original "Where is my package?" call, I received a call saying that that they would reduce the charge because they were late.

Bad delivery service
On Thursday I discovered 2 door tags (tried to deliver) on my door for the same item. First off, if the delivery person had ANY sense they would have put the second tag elsewhere as noone saw the first tag.
Friday I call FedEx & their representative told me everything was delivered & didn't know why I had gotten a door tag. End of story, or so I thought.
Friday night come home & there is another door tag. Call again & this person tells me there are 2 packages that need to be signed for. So I find out where I can pick them up (I happen to work "near" their facility) & tell them to hold the packages, i.e. don't try to deliver them on Monday.
Monday I call to verify the packages are still at their facility for me to pick up (I was assured they were there).
I get there at noon & was told by the security guard they have specific pick up hours. Not one of my previous 3 phone calls was that mentioned.
On my way back to my vehicle I try to call FedEx to complain & was promplty hung up on by their representative "Michael".
My packages are now held hostage until I figure out how to get them "at their convenience".
