Misinformation/Lack of Communication
My dog passed away at the age of 4 in a tragic accident. I have 2 children, ages 14 and 12. We had planned to have a memorial service for her so my kids could get closure. She was cremated and her remains were to be sent to us via FedEx. They said they attempted to deliver three times and left door stickers. On one of those days I was home at the time noted and no one ever rang the bell or knocked at that time.
I made arrangements for them to deliver the package to my local FedEx Office location. They called and confirmed that they had it. I told the person that called me that I would not be able to pick it up until this weekend. She never mentioned that they have a hold policy where they will send it back if you don't pick it up in a certain amount of time. When I went to get the package yesterday a rude woman told me that it wasn't there and there was nothing I could do. I asked her to call the main office to see if they could help and she said "I can't but go ahead and use our phone." The person on the phone said the package had been shipped back and I would need to pay to have it re-shipped. Upset, I told her good bye and asked to speak to the manager at this Kinkos. The manager did not ask me to hear my side of the story she immediately started quoting "Our policy". Well if they had quoted their "policy" the first time I spoke to them this problem would not have happened. She said she would have her manager call me and that person never did so.
I had to tell my kids we would have the memorial service without Emily's remains and we did. I am extremely disappointed in FedEx. Not only for their gross mishandling of my package and not telling me their policies ahead of time, but also for the uncaring and robotic attitude of their employees.

Incompetent delivery
Fedex should just close and leave the home delivery to DHL and UPS. I was supposed to receive a package today but it never came. I checked the website and it came up as "delivery exception" "customer not available or business closed". This was supposedly at 2:24pm. Well I was home from 1 pm on. So the not home excuse is garbage. Plus, the delivery I was getting, comes from a company that drop ships. So it wouldn't have even mattered if I was home or not. The package should have been left at my door. This is the third time in less than 1 year that Fedex has screwed me. First was in August when I didn't get my delivery but the website showed it was delivered. Long story short, the person that they really delivered it to, was kind enough to drop it off to me about 5 days after the fact. Then just this past January same situation. Delivered it to the wrong house and the other home owner delivered it to me several days later. I actually spoke to this gentleman. He lives two blocks away and his house number does not match mine. So the wonderful Fedex driver delivered my package to whomever he damn well pleased. Both times I called Fedex and both times they tried saying that it was my fault. I really wish that companies would stop using this worthless company to deliver their goods. The entire company needs a major overhaul. UPS has never screwed me. Not even once. I wish that Fedex would just disappear. Please

poor service
North Carolina to Canada---almost 10 days, then the small package was not even delivered to the door, it was dropped in the mailbox at the end of the driveway. The recipients had stayed home for 3 days for fear of missing the driver. No explanation or compensation was offered.

Incorrect tracking info / no delivery attempt
Terrible service. Waited in on day due for delivery as it stated 'out for delivery', but no delivery was made. I was sitting in my front room watching for it when the tracking information was updated by a driver saying 'delivery attempted'. I reconfirmed my address and they were adamant that it was attempted and a card left. It wasnt and I was even sitting there at the time! Obviously a lazy and lying delivery driver. Ive been onto them every day and am now on day 5 of waiting for it. They dont seem to care that this happened and despite persistent requests they have still made no attempt to deliver. Terrible, non existant service from a large company that clearly doesnt care about its customers or misconduct of its delivery drivers

Unprofessional/false assurances from fedex damaging business
a shipment was expected to reach us on 26th april, I am writing this on 3rd may. it has been stuck in Delhi due to some reason, which we are never told exactly what the reason is. Every day we are told someone will contact us in few hours but NOTHING happens. To make the case worse fedex website says our shipment is in MUMBAI now, but the customer care says it is in Delhi. For a shipment addressed to jodhpur, it is strange if the shipment is in Mumbai.
Amid all this frustrating handling of shipment at fedex end, we are incurring a huge business loss.

Lazy drivers
Every time I have a fedex delivery, I have a problem. I never have trouble with UPS. This time the driver dumped a 52 lb package on the front porch of a multi-unit dwelling and didn't attempt to let me know it was there. I had no way of getting the package up one flight of stairs to my apartment. Why couldnt he bring it to my apartment door?I complained, and for the second half of my shipment, several days later, they promised me it would be delivered to my door. It was, but the driver didn't even bother to knock. I had to struggle to get a 115 lb box 2 feet over the threshold and lay it down flat. Several cuts and bruises layer, and a scraped wooden floor, I'm pissed.

Delivered to non-existent address
Ordered a package from Florida, and the shipper had a typo in the address. The correct address was 6315, but the company shipped to 6515. On the anticipated day of delivery, we tracked the package and noticed that it stated that the package had been delivered. Since 6515 would only be 1 block away from our house, we decided to walk down to our neighbors at 6515 and ask if they had our package. However - 6515 DOES NOT EXIST! The house numbers on the street go from 6500 to 6529 - no 6515 in between. We called FedEx and explained the problem to them, and asked where they delivered the package. They were unable to tell me anything other than that the package had been delivered to 6515. They also stated that 6515 was a valid address in their system, but were unable to look at a map and tell me exactly where it is (seriously - it does not exist - I checked with the city.) After 3 different phone calls, I was told that the driver would be sent back out to retrieve the package and they would give me a call back. I then received a call the next day stating that the package had been delivered to 6515. After quite a long time on the phone trying to explain to them that it is not possible because the address did not exist - the customer service rep hung up on me. I called back, explained the entire thing to another customer service rep and I was told that the only thing I could do is contact the shipper and have them put in a trace on the package and that at that point the driver would be sent back out to retrieve the package (from the non-existent address - neat trick!) When I asked why I had not been told this on the first phone call instead of the 5th phone call, the customer service rep again hung up on me.
I was unaware that the drivers are independent contractors until I read some of the other postings on this website. After asking repeatedly for the exact FedEx policy when an address cannot be found and not getting an answer, it all became clear. FedEx has no control over their independent contractors - and if an address cannot be found there is nothing stopping the driver from taking the package home - and no specific FexEx policy that anyone would read to me preventing them from doing so. My guess is if the address cannot be found, the driver just gets to keep it. There is certainly nothing stopping them from doing this, as the only person on the planet who knows where my package went is their independent contractor driver who is not a FedEx employee and FedEx has no control over.
The same company shipped a separate package to us via UPS on the same day. The address was also wrong on that package, but on the day of delivery I received a call from UPS stating that they had an incorrect address (they had attempted delivery to 6515 and not been able to find it) and that they had looked up the name in their system and wanted to confirm the correct address with me. They did in fact have the correct address (which the UPS person told me they basically "look in the phone book") and delivered the package on time. Why FedEx can't do this I have no idea - they wouldn't explain anything to me except that the package had been delivered to 6515.
Take away - use UPS or USPS if you want to actually receive your package and not have it stolen by an independent FedEx contractor (who by the way - can employ anyone - drug addicts, felons, etc. - who now know where you live AND what you own - and FedEx takes NO responsibility if something happens to either your package, or to you.)

I will never order anything from anyone again as long as they use Fedex for shipping
I have been waiting since Dec 21st. for Fedex to deliver my 8 year old daughter’s Christmas gift that I ordered from Toys Us. Fedex keeps telling me they cannot deliver it due to the weather. They said they tried to delivery it ON Dec. 21st, Dec 22nd and Dec 23rd, Yes we had 15 inches of snow Dec. 18th 09 but my road and drive way was clear early Dec. 22, 09.
Fedex also said they tried to deliver the item Dec. 24th at 2:18pm but no one was home that is a life they DID NOT attempted to delivery it on Dec. 24th or any other day, we were home waiting for the package. in fact my husband was outside. He would have seen Fedex. Fedex told me they will try to deliver the pacage Dec. 29th. After Christmas. So thanks to Fedex my little girl can’t have her Christmas gift till after Christmas. I will never order anything from anyone again as long as they use Fedex for shipping.

PACKAGES HELD HOSTAGE BY "FEDEX SECURITY"
WE ARE A PRODUCTION COMPANY CALIFORNIA AND NEW JERSEY, PROVIDING NEWS FOOTAGE TO TV STATIONS AS PART OF OUR DAILY BUSINESS.
OUR PRODUCTION MANAGER TENDERED 5 FEDEX ENVELOPES TO A LOCAL FEDEX DEPOT ON SATURDAY FOR DELIVERY FIRST THING MONDAY MORNING TO OUR NETWORK ACCOUNTS FOR LIVE BROADCASTS.
FEDEX HAD DECIDED THAT OUR ACCOUNT HAS HAD SOME FORM OF FRAUDULENT ACTIVITY (THAT THEY REFUSE TO DISCUSS, DOCUMENT OR REVEAL), SO THEY HAVE REFUSED TO DELIVER ANY AND ALL OF OUR PACKAGES.
THERE WAS NO ONE TO DISCUSS THIS ISSUE WITH FEDEX OVER THE WEEKEND AND WHEN WE WERE ABLE TO CONTACT THE FEDEX SECURITY MANAGER ON MONDAY MORNING, WE WERE TOLD THAT THE QUESTIONS WE WERE ASKING ABOUT OUR TIME VALUE PACKAGES (WHY, WHERE, WHEN) WOULD NOT BE ANSWERED AND THE PACKAGES WOULD BE RETURNED TO US.
MAY I SUGGEST THAT THERE MUST BE A BETTER WAY FOR FEDEX TO DEAL WITH LONG TERM BUSINESS CUSTOMERS AND CLEARLY FEDEX HAS NO IDEA WHAT THAT WAY COULD POSSIBLY BE.

I was at a local Auto Parts store when Fedex made a delivery. The package handler was dressed in sloppy pants hanging loosely, two shirts the inside one was a blacl long sleeve and the outer was a Fedex blue short sleeve, both with the shirt tails out, His hat was a black baseball cap turned backwards. He looked like a street thug. I think that Fedex could and should have a dress code that shows respect for their business as well as their customers'. Thank goodness for UPS's brown dress code.
