Festus Ford, recently ran a promotion stating that they would give $4000 down payment on any vehicle on their lot. (with discounts up to 90% off MSRP). Also a chance to win a New Mustang, $7000 cash, a Rolex watch, Mp3 player, or $100 in cash. According to salesman 6, 000 certificates were sent out to consumers. Salesman stated that if the correct key was brought in that starts the car, Mustang would be driven out the door immediately. All new cars are made with a chip in key preventing them from starting with a regular key. These keys were so soft they would bend when trying to open the door with them.
When I offered them a full price offer on a used vehicle, they declined to give me my $4000 off, they said the payoff was $4000 more than the kelly blue book price quoted. After they refused to give me the $4000 discount, I ask for my guaranteed prize, that the brochure stated I had won, one of the above mentioned prizes, I was given a certificate for a MP3 player, but the catch was I had to send $22.00 shipping and handling to receive the player. After I approached them that it was not a free gift and the whole thing was a scam, they threatened to throw me out on my head and call 911 to remove me from premises. I told them to give me the phone and I would call 911 for them, that I did not appreciate being took, that my time was as valuable as theirs, and that I was serious about buying a vehicle and I did not have time for gimmics.
P.S. They refused to give me my brochure back, so that I would have proof of the scam, but I was able to obtain another brochure from another person that was sent the same one as I had been sent. I feel that people work hard enough for their money without being scammed, and I also feel this is very illegal and immoral in a country that was built on the foundations of integrity and trust. These people have been reported to the attorney general and also the better business bureau.
