Deliberate creation of late fees
FIA is one of those outfits that sends out bills late and processes payments late in order to create situations whereby they can levy late fees and apply high interest charges. I had a $36K credit card with them that I just cancelled due to these tactics. The agent I spoke to seemed to be pleased to be losing my business (I have an excellent credit rating). I get the impression that these people are sunsetting their credit card business and are just gouging their remaining customers for whatever they can get. Anyone who has an FIA card should ditch it as soon as possible in my opinion.

Unfair policies and min. payments
My father-in-law gave my wife a credit card while she was in college and before we met. We're in the process of paying it off. I've made over 10 payments on this card that these sacks of crap at FIA Card Services charge interest on which is apparently KILLING me!!! So far, all those payments have done is they've knocked down the total payment by about $250. Each min. payment is over $100. These people are stealing us blind!

On top of that, I've noticed that they just "decide" to bump your min. payment up by $50 or whatever they want and they claim that it all depends on the days in your cycle. That's BS because one period (Feb.) had less days and the min. payment was actually greater than the previous period that more days (Mar.).

Another thing is that their ridiculous policy doesn't let you get ANY information if you're not on the account, even common sense stuff. Like for example, one month I didn't receive my bill that I've been receiving at my current address for the last 4 months, and when I called to simply inquire on it, they said that they couldn't give me that info. How stupid are they! You can't tell why I'm not getting a bill when it's BEEN coming to me for the last several months? What kind of dangerous info could be leaked if they told me? It makes no sense to me, but maybe I'm missing some information. Anyway, it's all too frustrating and they totally want to ***. I wish there was a way to cripple this company.

Stay away
I agree with you. I went to my bank and over $500.00 was debited from my account. I inquired about the transaction and tried to dispute it. They said it was in the disclosure statement when I opened the credit card account and they could legally do this. This was a business account and they went into my personal account to withdraw funds. I read other blogs and see they did the same thing to others. I don't think this is fair. And they turned around and asked for another payment. I told them you already have it. Don't go to FIA for services!!!

Harassment of my son in the Navy
My son has been receiving harassing phone calls from these inept collectors and it is causing him to stress out. He was incorrectly charged while he was in boot camp ( he's in the Navy) and his account went into further debt through no fault of his own. He had called and made arrangements with them before he left for boot camp!

Now FIA card services has sent his account to a collection agency which is threatening him and calling him continuously. I resent the fact that he is being hounded by this agency while he is trying to do his job in the Navy. He was once again incorrectly charged and is now further in debt because they deducted funds on the wrong date. They are threatening to sue him. I say screw them, let them sue. He's already in collections because of their idiocy.

Continuation of removal of funds
I was harassed by FIA Card Services about a past due credit card account. I explained that I was working with a debt solution law firm (Beacon Debt Solutions) and that FIA Card Services needed to contact them regarding payment. FIA told me they would not contact Beacon and I had to make arrangements with them to pay off the credit card. Not knowing then what I know now, I authorized payments. Now FIA is being paid twice for the same account; once by me and once by Beacon. FIA Card Services needs to stop taking payments from my account as Beacon has paid off the credit card.

deliberate practice
I had a 3% promo with Bank America so I paid down my equity loan @7% with 30k from this promo 3%. All was fine for the 1st few months than, I did not get a bill in march. I received a bill in April with new rate of 13% plus late fee. I called and had it fixed back to 3 %. Some months later the same thing happened and when I called they always tell me they sent it to the correct address and I should have received the bill? I never did, so I closed the card and paid off the balance of 20k +. Recently my Dietech GM card wich I now know is also an FIA card services Co. did the same thing on a 10k balance. Twice they did not send a bill so they can collect late fee and more inportant raise the interest rate. Is this a scam or do they practice this acyion with all high account balances. I closed that account this week too.

Scam collection practice
Be wary of FIA Card Services offering to settle credit card balances in collection. Last year I made a deal to pay off several Bank of America credit cards for a fraction of what was owed. The FIA rep put the arrangement in writing. First, they changed the cc number to a new number. We established an automatic draft arrangement and each month for 6 months they drafted my account for the agreed amount. I made the last payment on 12/31/07 and all was fine. Well, up until recently when FIA Card Services started trying to collect on the same debt using yet again different cc numbers. They refuse to provide the original credit card number and call constantly trying to intimidate me into paying. They have gone as far as telling me they never made any arrangement with me in the past. I still have the written agreement they sent me and refuse to give it to them because they are scam artist. I would prefer litigation. The point isd, my credit report was to show these cards paid as agreed but instead it shows I am in collection. They run a scam and so does the creditors. They make you believe they'll take less when in fact they have the upper hand. My suggestion, make the creditor take you to court. The judges will never make you pay more than you can afford and there is nothing more secure than a court order.

Short response time when calling!
FIA Card Services frequently call on phone. Their number and name are registered on my caller ID, but they hang up before I can answer the phone. System here has call router so that incoming calls are picked up after the first two rings from telco, then begins ringing voice phones if not Fax or modem call. They seem to stop the call when line is picked up despite the fact that locally generated ringing signals are being sent back to them.

Darn it, they should wait at least 0ne minute (10 ringing signals) before terminating the call. Present practice is VERY ANNOYING!

did not receive check for a credit
for over 1 month, i have been dealing with the morons at fia card services.i'am due a refund for a credit i have, amount $740.32.every time i call, they tell me "the check is in the mail" well i have totaly had it with these morons! how can i get my money back?
