Fake Agreement Terms
In order to protect my excellent payment record, I called Bank of America to explain to them I was experiencing financial difficulties and asked if I could make special payment arrangements. The customer service representative took some information from me and explained that I may be eligible for their emergency relief program which would reduce my monthly payments if I agree to close my account with them. I was interested in hearing more, therefore, I was transferred to that particular department. The next representative took down all of my current monthly expenses information and stated there should be no problem with being accepted into the program. I stated that I had a payment coming due which I had difficulty making. He guaranteed me that it would be fine to CANCEL the upcoming payment as a new payment amount would be approved prior to the date the regular payment was due. However, he'd get back to me the following day with a verbal approval. The following day I received a call stating I had been approved. While on the phone with this representative, I logged on to my bank account, VERIFIED with the representative that it was definitely OK to CANCEL the payment that was due and NOT schedule another payment until I received the paperwork for the new arrangements as I was fearful about this step. He GUARANTEED ME that no payment was due at this time until I received the new payment arrangements and I was good to go with cancelling the upcoming payment. Therefore, I cancelled the payment. I received the paperwork for the new arrangements, scheduled the new payment according to the terms outlined, and immediately began paying according to the terms outlined in the new paperwork. I received my first statement according to the new terms. LOW AND BEHOLD I WAS A MONTH PAST DUE!!! I immediately called and was told I should have made the payment I was told was ok to cancel! Many phone calls were made by me to rectify this situation. Of course, I'm told I'm in the wrong and owe this payment. I refuse to pay that payment as I was instructed to cancel that payment. Now I'm continually being harrassed because of this one missed payment. All other payments have been made according to the due dates and according to the agreement. Bank of America has not lived up to THEIR END OF THE AGREEMENT. I will pay my debt I incurred. I will pay it according to the terms presented to me. It's time Bank of America steps up to their end of the agreement. I know they won't because they feel they don't have to; however, I will. Bank of America will cower behind Big Corporation and harrass me over a meager amount of money. I will pay them what I owe and prove I'm morally better then they are by standing up to my part of the agreement.
