False billing
I specifically asked two times on the purchase of 4 tires whether the financing offered was 6 months same as cash, and was told it was. I was away when the second bill arrived and when I returned found I owed 2 late charges, per Credit First, the financing company of Firestone. After complaining to Credit First, not at all a customer service friendly company, I paid off the tires and will NOT do business with either Firestone or Credit First again.

Falsifying repairs and costs
I remember a couple of years ago, my brakes were acting up as they were vibrating and it was determined that the rotors would need to be replaced. I had been putting it off due to other costs I had. Then finally, it was a Sunday afternoon and I was desperately looking for a place to have my brakes worked on. I found the Firestone autocare garage in Toronto on Yonge just south of Eglinton street. I brought it in and asked the guy to look at my brakes and also do an oil change. So he said he would look at my brakes and call me on my cell phone soon. So I walked down the street to grab some food at McDonald's while I wait for his call. So, while I am eating, he calls me and initially quotes me a price of about $400 which was inline with what another person had told me. So I said it sounds fine, but about 10 minutes later, I get another call on my cell phone from him and he now says that there are more things to repair and it will now cost $600, I thought it was odd but at the time I really wanted to fix the issue, so I stupidly said yes, then a few minutes later, he calls me again and says it will now cost up to $900. At that point, I told him not to proceed and told him only to do the oil change. So I paid for the oil change only and a few days later, I brought my car to another garage I had dealt with on many occasions and he looked at it and gave me an estimate of $400 for total replacement of my rotars and discs. It just goes to show that many garages will stoop to any level to rip off clients. Hopefully, you will not go to this location. Two good garages are the active Green and Ross in Downtown on Adelaide and John and the active Green and ross in Markham on Highway 7 near Main Street Markham.

Bad Job
I live in NJ. My daughter's car (my car) broke down in Port St. Lucie, FL on March 6, 2011. AAA towed her car to Firestone All American Tire and Service. They told me the engine blew and I agreed to have them replace it (with a rebuilt). The store manager was nice enough at the time. Got a quote and gave a deposit. Signed quote on 3/14/11. As of May 16 I still didn't have the car. They were rude, would not return my calls-if I did get the manager he would tell me it's going to take as long as it takes. I called Firestone back in March and had a 3 way call with them. Firestone would not help me because they say the store is independent (just sell Firestone Tires). I was then told by my AAA rep that the shop was going to be closing their doors and they had to finish my car before that. Well, guess what? The shop closed and my car was locked inside for over a week!!! My AAA rep stopped by again and the owners (who never contacted me) told him that they got a company to come fix my car and that it was running well. I then had to pay the balance of $1, 400 before they will release my car.

My daughter was stuck without her car for 3 months. When she did get it back, we took it to another shop before she was allowed to drive it, just to find the engine had no Vin#, wiring was not hooked up, they glued the radiator and the cruise control cable. The transmission cable had to be replaced as did the brackets under the car (holding the engine and transmission in) I still have all of the broken parts and the repair order from the new shop.

My question is this: Why would Firestone let anyone that they won't stand behind use their name. Not only was it on their receipt, they have a large Firestone sign on their building. This is just awful and misleading. I cannot tell you how horrible this has been. I am out to send Firestone and this shop a message. Don't ever let them touch your car. 1888 SW Bayshore Blvd. - just in case they change their name - again. - Don't use any Firestone service center. Corporate won't help

Scam
I had my car put on the mechine before I went to this firestone. They told me to fix my alternator it would be 400 and something dollors and then I must buy a hundred and something dollar battery from them before they could fix it. When I told them my battery was from wal mart and they would replace it for free they said nothing was wrong with the alternator it is the battery. Well I replaced the battery and when I made it home my alternator was gone out. Just because they couldn't scam me out of more money they lied to me and I lost my job because my alternator was gone. Put your car on the mechine before you go here are you will be scammed. This is for people who value great service and who like honesty from a business who says they value the customer.

Wrong parts used
Firestone in Jersey City, NJ not only used a synthetic blend in my VW Jetta but, they shorted me 1 quart of oil. They put in 5quarts when it should have been 6.3 and it should have also been full synthetic as required by the OEM. If I did not check the dipstick and feel the viscosity fo the oil on my fingertips I could have been seriously screwed.

My car is still under warrenty and the manufacturer would not cover any problems associated with using the wrong oil and not enough oil.

Stay away from these dogs
Mileage on my Prius has never been below 50 MPG in 45, 000-plus miles of driving. Has nosedived to 43 MGP since having Firestone Champion Hr tires installed. The Hr must stand for huge reduction these are the worst tires I have ever owned. Lousy wet-road traction to boot. Stay away from these dogs.

RIPOFF
Dont go to this Firestone if you are Hispanic. I took my car there for an inspection that my insurance company needed. They charged me $23 and assured me not to worry that it would pass and they would sign the form. I am causasian. My husband went out to see what they were doing who is hispanic. they told me my master cylinder is leaking and it is not. They told me my rear cyclops light was out and it is not. All of a sudden they told me I needed $1000 worth of work and I do not. I went to another mechanic who said they were just trying to rip us off.

bad service
bought new tires today at another vendor. drove the car for 15 miles with no noticable change. stopped at firestone, hackensack for a lifetime alignment service. the car pulls left across the lane into on coming traffic. they contend the work was done correctly, and it drives straight. this place is a night mare. who would do bad work like that and let someone drive away with an unsafe car. maybe idiots, crooks or both.

horrible service
numerous complaints about service . this year i had my car towed in because it would not start . a 91 volvo i wanted them to put in a fuel presssure regulator and change the spark plugs . they refused !!! because it had an oil leak . aren't they a repair center they never saw an oil leak before !! last year i brought it in for inspection they failed it because of emissions ... it is a 1991 volvo driven less than 4, 000 miles per year . there are numerous exemptions both because of age and mileage that exempts my car from emissions... THESE PEOPLE KNOW nothing and are rude and arrogant... extremely bad and ill informed, unknowledgeable service.
