My elderly mother invested half of her life savings with Larry Bates company, First American Monetary Consultants, Inc in purchasing gold francs. She ordered the gold Dec. 3, 2009 and it is now May 4, 2010 and she has not received her gold nor does her consultant, Cheryl L. DeYoung give her any approximate on the delivery date. The consultant has tried shameless con-artist psychology on my mother and had her completely confused. This should be a simple process that with a reputable company involves no more than a maximum of 28 business days for delivery in hand.
I got involved due to how this was affecting my mother's health and at first Mrs. DeYoung refused to deal with me. I had to prove power of attorney and force her to give me all the information she possessed concerning my mother's gold delivery. It wasn't much. She claims that since the gold is purchased in Europe that it takes longer. I explained to her that this was never revealed to my mother before purchasing, nor, was it put into writing anywhere on the back of the receipt she was given that it could be months or even years before she received her gold. They are now shifting me from person to person, the latest being Larry Bates assistant. She has yet to return my phone calls.
Of course, we have contacted the BBB and we also are consulting legal aide, but I really hope that others don't purchase from Larry Bates or his company First American Monetary Consultants and have to go through what we are enduring.
