Disgusting money making scheme from poor clients
I am so disgusted in the studentl loan i took with FNB. I took up a R24000 student loan from FNB - till today the loan never reflects a amount less than R24000 outstanding to be precise it now amounts to R24960.80. They on their own decided to take a debit order of R297.23 from my account without any consultation, they charge me R20.00 monthly fee, R48.50 for something they call CPP insurance premium and an interest of R229.43 which fluctuate but never less than R200. I dont understand how they expect the loan to paid up if the loan amount is less than their charges. I would expect by now from 2007 to have paid in their interest but no.
I have accounts with them and the monthly interest they charge me, they dont pay into my account as interest. Are they making money out of people and not prepared to give to people.
Please can someone look into this and explain. Disgusted about their money making system taking from the poor and cant give.

Money taken without compensation
I was shopping at the Spar located at Bel Air Mall in North Riding. I decided to withdraw R 600 from the ATM in the shop. Upon completing my transaction at the ATM, it did not dispense any cash and the screen flashed an error message. Yet, I recieved cell phone and email notification that the money was drawn.
I phoned the helpline number on the slip and was told to go into my local branch to report the matter. I proceeded to Northgate Mall FNB (the next morning), where I was promptly given the 'run around' between numerous bank employees and told that the process would take 4 weeks. Very non commital and unhelpful!
I called the owner of the Bel Air Mall spar and asked him to check the security footage. He confirmed that the money was not dispensed to me.
I find it totally unacceptible that my money should be taken by FNB and that they will not refund me. Since I now have the security footage proving my case, I have a good mind to report a case of fraud.

I have over the last 5 days left 5 messages for Mr Cilliers to phone me to date no response
Having no need for my FNB card I paid up and cancelled the card in 2005. Since then I have had no correspondence or dealings with them. At the beginning of this month my Fnb cheque statement reflected a debit from Fnb card. As they have no authority I requested my relationship manager to return their request, unfortunatly the system does not allow this. I have phoned and spoken to over 20 people at card division all with no interest in rectifying their criminal behavior. I have over the last 5 days left 5 messages for Mr Cilliers to phone me to date no response.

Fnb does not care about it's customers
After posting my troubles a week ago I finally heard back from fnb asking me to outline a payment plan. I like alot of people am struggling financially but at least I am trying to sort it out. I said I am able to pay r5000 a month back into my overdraft with the help of my dad. But according to the lady I have been dealing with this is not good enough. She says I need to come up with the full amount of 97000 by the end of the month . Now I ask you if I can only afford 5000 a month how the hell am I supposed to come up with 97000. You would think a big bank like fnb would be more helpful and understanding . She has said I have till the end of the week or o am going to be handed over to their attorneys. I can't believe they would rather deal with paying attorney fees than work out a payment plan for me. It does not male sense . I know banks like standard bank are making plans for their customers and being alot more understanding through this tough financial time. Hopefully I can deal with someone who is willing to help.

Wrong info by credit card dept.
I was phoned by the credit card department on Wednesday 12 August 2009 who informed me that my card has been approved and will be at my branch within a week.
After a week I phoned and the card were not there, knowing that hick-ups do occur i gave them 2 more days (thursday and friday).
This morning (24 August 2009) I gave the branch itself a ring and the card were STILL not there.
I decided to call the credit card department to track the progress of my card and they informed me that my card havent even been posted to my FNB branch yet !!
Worst of all they informed me that the card would only be available on thursday or friday ' AT THE EARLIEST ' !
This is a huge inconvenience as i planned to do credit card transactions this week after being promised that my card would be available.
Looking at the other complaints I am not the only person who had been misinformed.

FNB Fourways Mall are insufficient and unhelpful
It seems like the staff at Fourways Mall FNB are becoming more and more unhelpful. I went in on Saturday to collect my new card. I unfortunately forgot my ID book at home but I had my temporary drivers licence as well as my Correctional Services ID card on me. Both have my full names, ID number on and both have my photo on.
The teller at the bank point blank refused to help me because I did not have my ID document on hand.
Now I have to go back to the bank with the unhelpful people a second time to collect the card.
I think this is absolutely ridiculous behavior. Why is it that I always have problems with FNB Fourways mall? Why can you not train your people the way Benmore Shopping centre FNB trains their staff.
I think you should go and take some pointers from them.
FNB Fourways Mall are insufficient and unhelpful. And you waste my time!

I am now sick and tired of the service i am getting from FNB
I am now sick and tired of the service i am getting from FNB. I have just had a call from a uninformed call centre agent and this should stop immediately. All i need is for someone in FNB (Manager or responsible person) to phone me and the issues will be resolved immediately. I get the feeling FNB is making money out of unlawful business practices and this can only be addressed at management level.

Fraudulent Charges NOT Waived
I had charges on my First National Bank credit card that were proven fraudulent, yet the bank said they could not do anything about them because they were not in the past 60 days.
This company clearly does not care about its customers. If you have a credit card with them, replace it as soon as you can!!!

late transaction processed
i went to the branch at 13H00 and deposited a cheque in the box, and at 15H45 i called the branch as it did not show on my account that the transaction has been processed Molalo Nekavhambe confirmed the receipt of the cheque and it will be recorded the very same day as i needed a special clearance on a cheque, the following morning 30/04/2010 at 08H55 I called the branch and spoke to Lindiwe and kept holding while she was investigating, she came back online and promised to call me later, at 09H10 an sms fired on my phone and immediately Lindiwe called me to say it is sorted, the lady by the name of Molalo Nekavhambe called me also to explain that they could not transact my account because the cheques were already left the previous day and they only open the box twice a day which is midday and when the bank closes so ineed to know why should we use that facility of box and why shhould we do special clearance as it seems not important to the bank.
