That on 23.10.2008 at about 1PM, I along with my friends visited Marcato Mall, Dubai to dine & shop. After shopping we went to the food court as I had promised them to treat them to a lunch. Since Mc Donalds is my favourite food joint so I ordered the following meal ;
1. 2 Med Coke
2. 1 DBL
3. 1 Fish Fillet
The order No was ORD 27-REG-13-dated 23/10/2008 at 14 : 07 : 03 Hrs . The reciept of the same was duly recieved by me. After ordering the meal we went to other food counters to order meal.
In a while I collected my order from the Mc donalds food counter & made ourselves comfortable in the vincinity of the Marcato's food court. I started my meal with french fries n coke. Thereafter I started having my Hot Favourite Fish Fillet Burger . On the third bite of the burger I realised that something sharp n strange that had got stuck in my tooth. Since, I am a fast eater I usually gulp my food while having it. However, the presence of something sharp in my mouth set me on a alarm & I spitted the entire bite out on the tray.Shockingly, I discovered that there was a big 1 inch thorn in the bite of the Fish Fillet Burger. My hunger was gone & I felt like throwing up. I quickly rushed to the near washroom & vomitted. I almost felt dizzy . My friends made me comfortable & I felt little better. To my suprise, on checking the burger I found out that there were 1 or 2 more thorns in it. My friends & I were awfully disgusted by the entire event as our leisure turned into nightmare. I was completely petrified at the instance with which an esteemed organisation like Mc Donalds can also be negligent & operate without due care. I took the Burger along with the bite in which the thorn was discovered to the Mc Donalds counter & demanded an explanation from the Manager. The Manager was surprised himself n extended apologies for the arbitrary act which took place due to the negligence of the food supplier but however could not explain as to how the thorn was present in the burger. He assured me that the he will investigate into the matter & complain to the authorities. I wrote a complaint mentioning thorns were found in the Fish Fillet Burger. I wanted to retain the burger as a piece of evidence but since it is a perishable product the Manager took full responsibility of verifying into the matter & he put it into a transparent bag n attached my complaint with it. I took photographs of the same from my cell & are attached herewith. It is pertinent to mention that the piece in which the thorn was found was wrapped in a tissue paper & packed alongwith the Burger. Thereafter, I recieved a call from the Head department of the management of Mc Donalds assuring me that coercive steps will be taken against the company who has defaulted in taking measures of safety & not adhered to the guidelines incorporated by the company.
I am a law abiding citizen & as a good national it is my duty to report about the scarefull matter that could even be a cause of my death if I didn't use my presence of mind at that moment. That due to the negligence of Mc Donalds, I have suffered great humilation infront of my friends & other people present in the food court. In addition, my tooth which was recently capped also came out as the thorn got stuck in it leaving my gums wounded. I suffered deep agony, pain & trauma due to the incident. The loss & damage caused due to the negligence of such an effulent & emminent Food Hospality Organisation is irreparable in addition to suffering & harrassment.That such an act contributes to negligence & opposes public health policy. It is against the guidlines issued for safety of health & is hazardous in nature & thus is not acceptable from Worlds No1 Food Chain Mc Donalds.
