I am not sure if these alleged "companies" (they don't deserve the title of company) are affiliated but both Acai and Bromalite seem to automatically hook you up to Fit Factory. The schemes are the same: Entice the online customer with a "free" trial for only the charge of shipping and handling ~ 3.95 (Which translates to ~$5.00 CDN). By clicking on the button "Order my bottle now" the customer automatically enters this dark website of deception. Legitimately, I was aware that I would be paying shipping & handling for a bottle of Bromalite and a bottle of Acai Berry. Nothing more.
But somewhere, deeply imbedded in the website is another smaller button (I discovered this weeks later) titled "Terms" which is not offered to the shopper early on in the process of the trial commitment. I only found these “Terms” once I started searching through the fraud complaints. For example Bromalite states: "...I understand i will enjoy a monthly membership to FitFactory where I can track my weight loss and get diet advice for a monthly fee of $29.95 per month billed on the 21st day unless I cancell by calling 1-866-407-1022." (Typos appear online as quoted)
Reading the complaints on this board, I see that all of us have similar stories. I have tried calling all 3 companies and with difficulty got in touch with Acai and Bromalite but seem to get a dead-end with the Fit Factory phone number (above). I have written letters to all 3 clearly stating removal of subscriptions plus wrote letters to my credit card companies explaining these erroneous charges and included copies of the letters I sent to each company. It may not be possible to recover the money these companies have charged me without my conscious consent. This total is now at $ 413.13CDN and I am fearful that there may be more before this is over. They also seem to use a variety of billing names. My statements have all of these:
