I placed an order with this company for an exercise bike (as a gift) 2 weeks ago. In the interim, I sent them at least 3 emails requesting information on when the item would be shipped. They responded to only one saying that they would look into it and get back to me. Never happened.
Finally, I called them. After waiting on hold for more than a half an hour I got an agent who actually managed to get up from his desk and find out what the problem was. He told me that there was a "delay" (duh) and that the item would ship out in about a week.
While on hold I tried to contact the parent company (Gately's of Englewood, CO). One number was never answered and the other put me into the a queue with the same annoying muzak that I'd been listening to for half an hour.
But it gets better. They had charged my credit card when I placed the order. So for 2 weeks I have had the cost of the item added to my credit card balance.
Needless to say, I canceled the order.
I've gotten better customer service from flea market vendors. I will never order from these people again. I'm sure they won't miss the loss, but my fiancee's gym buys equipment by the truckload and was looking for other vendors. Maybe eventually these people will learn to treat everyone with respect since you never know what you'll be losing if you don't.
