Over charging
I called in August to find out how to cancel my membership. I was told, at that time, to just give my name and they would cancel me. The next month comes, charges to my bank account again. I called again, this time I was told that my cancellation needed to be in writing. I asked, "what does this cancellation letter need to read"? I was told it just needs to state my name and cancellation date. I sent a fax in September stating to cancel my membership ASAP. Well, today Is November 16th and again another charge to my bank account including the one in October that I missed. I telephoned the Sparks facility and spoke to Christine. Christine proceeds to tell me that the cancellaton letter also needs to state "I also want fitnessfor 10 to charge my account a $50.00 cancellation fee". Can you belive this? At this point, I am getting upset. So they succeeded in getting another $60.00 on top of the $50.00 for the cancellation fee that I told her to charge to my account right now. I wonder if she will come back now and state, " Opps can't do that over the telephone". It seems they can do over the telephone what benefits them, not the customer. Businesses don't stay in business just because they are cheap, they also need word of mouth. I know businesses are reaching for every penny they can possibly get do to the recession, but come on. Why would you not state on the telephone that they needed to put the $50.00 in the cancellation letter. I think this would have been a better business decision. All Christine would say was " Look at the Agreement, Look at the Agreement". I would have considered possibly enrolling again at some point, and also telling everyone I know to come work out with me. Not now, now I am posting a complaint on this complaint board for all of Northern Nevada to see. "Way to go Christine, I want you working for my company". FITNESS FOR 10 I guess you need to fight for every dime, even if it means loosing customers. It might take some time, but I assure you, your business will take a dump into Bankruptcy if you allow your employees to continue making these kinds of bad decisions.
