I hope every potential customer reads what I'm writing about this "company". I called Five Boro Mold and I spoke to a man named Moty. Moty has an arrogant attitude and seemed to be focused on closing the inspection. I questioned Moty on his procedures and other aspects of his company which are on the website. I asked about their organic materials as well as their inspection report and inspection procedures. Moty seemed as if he didn't have a clue what I was talking about. I asked questions about his certifications and he told me he would show me at the inspection. I asked about where I could find out about certifications and he wouldn't tell me. At first, he wanted to charge $550 for the inspection and when I continued to question him, he then offered a free estimate.
He never gave me a clear answer on any of my questions. He kept pushing for an inspection and I was getting annoyed and suspicious of his intent, so I decided to get off the phone with him and look around for another company. I searched for another company and I found Reliable Mold Removal. They stated on the site they are experienced in mold remediation. I decided to call them to see if I could do business with them.
When I called I ended up reaching Moty! Again, I searched for another company and found Entire Enviro. I called and it was this guy Moty again! I was now completely sure something was up with this company. I checked the addresses (311) and this business did not exist at any of the addresses stated. I decided to check up on these "certifications". I decided to go down to one of the locations to see if they actually exist and what I found was shocking. The Brooklyn address was a residential house and not an office. I left realizing they had nothing to do with any Mold Inspection company.
I called the EPA at (212) 637-4013 and asked them about being "EPA Certified" and they informed me that a "EPA Certification" for a company does not exist. I also explained to them that on their company site they have "EPA Certified" on the landing page. The agent told me that they never heard of Five Boro Mold Specialists or Reliable Mold Removal and would investigate the matter. The agent informed me that some of these companies would do anything to get my business. He told me that he would call me to let me know of the progress of the investigation.
The agent called back and told me they claimed to be a carpet company and that they were not claiming to be "EPA Certified". They also claimed to have nothing to do with Reliable Mold, though I personally ran into "Moty" twice. With this knowledge, I then knew that this was some kind of scam.
I called him back to confront him on his false claims of EPA Certification as well as his business addresses being false. I questioned Moty on why he would put that on his website and Moty hung up! I called him back and told him that I would write about this. Moty then hung up again. I feel this is an outrage and that they are nothing but a bunch of con-artists. My mother is extremely sick due to mold-related causes and my wife is pregnant with our second child. I have serious issues at home and I should never have to deal with a situation like this. Now I know the truth about Five Boro Mold and Reliable Mold Removal. These companies are carpet cleaning and management companies that don't know anything about mold removal or mold inspection. All they want to do is rip people off! I hope nobody else deals with this company.
