We have been "trying" to purchase a home that is "supposed" to be owned by Flagstar since May 2 (they accepted our offer and signed the contract on may 2) since we are paying cash settlement SHOULD have been fast and pain free, NOT EVEN CLOSE! Today is July 13 and we received a request for a 4th 30 day extension last night and the end is NOT in sight. The hold up, according to the title company that Flagstar is FORCING us to use, is that Flagstar does not hold the DEED to the home that they "OWN", Fannie Mae/Freddie Mac holds this deed. Well they say it takes up to 30 days for fannie mae to sign off, 90 later we are still waiting. According to state records Flagstar has owned this house since May so why they don't have a deed is confusing to me. Flagstar will not answer the telephone when I call to find out who at Fannie Mae is the contact person, if they are a "small" business, which only 50 employees is considered a small business, you would think they would exhibit better business practices, if your a small business wouldn't you want to try to hold on to the customers that you have? If you can avoid dealings with Flagstar I would DEF recommend it!
