July 19th, we gave a birthday party for my 4 year old. After the party, we cooked hot dogs for my family, my friend, her 3 girls, and one other girl. We fed five hot dogs on Great Value Buns from the local Wal-Mart. One of the girls came back for a second hot dog. When we got the bun to fix it and opened it, there was a large piece of plastic IN the bun. Wondering what it was, we pulled it out and saw the ingredients, Water, high fructose corn syrup, grape and pear juice, we figure it was a piece of a pop-ice wrapper. For something like that to be baked into my bread, I know it is not something that the bakery uses in their products. So that leaves me to think it is someones garbage from a snack or lunch, that is totally gross! Disgusting!

I got in contact with the company that makes the bread, Flowers Baking, Co. in Atlanta Georgia. They had the bread analyzed and came to the conclusion that the plastic, 1.5 inches by 1.0 inch, was not in the bread. They basically sent me a letter and said I was wrong, so I called the company and told them that they needn't listen to the letter and take me seriously. I can't let a company make something disappear that needs to be brought to everyones attention. These people are making our food, a staple for, bread. Whose is letting garbage into our food, whether accidental or on purpose? If they can get away with putting their food trash in our food, what else will they put into our food?

Pay attention and let nothing go unrecognized. This is important stuff, they make a lot of different breads, and if you find something in it let them know. I hope they work harder to prevent thins like this from happening again. And I can't help but wonder where the rest of the plastic wound up at?
