Ford Motor Credit Reviews

Customer Service
In Tennessee we were recently struck by tornadoes. To comp people for their losses ford sent out cards where you were supposed to call and they would extend your payments. This is a comment I wrote for something similar for an article for them doing the same thing for an Iowa tornado. This is how they treat their customers and I am currently outraged. Anyways, this is my comment as follows.

Yeah right... if it's like it was for us in Tennessee they say they are going to be offering a one or two month extension and they do it by sending a card out but they make you feel like scum when you call to take them up on the offer. They will tell you that your Zip Code is not in the effected area (mine is 37323, I live off Dalton Pike in South Eastern Bradley County). There were people that died within sight of my house and they say, "well your not in the affected area." When I said, "Oh really, well look on Youtube at the Tornado off Dalton Pk and tell me if that giant funnel cloud is classified as something other because it looks like a war Zone here." They go on to tell me they "DID NOT" send me a card saying they wouldn't extend my payment even though I was willing to overnight it to them or at the very least email them a picture.

Ford, I would rather you just tell me to suck it up, man up, go dig through the rubble and find what valuables (jewelry, guns, etc) you can. Then sell them for whatever you can to get the car payment because they only say things like this for the initial Public Relations "pat on the back." THEY DIDN'T REALLY THINK THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE EXTENSIONS TO TORNADO VICTIMS BECAUSE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN FORDS ZIP CODES ARE IN THEIR HEADS.

Yes they will finally give you a ONE MONTH extension after they treated you like garbage for twenty nine minutes by telling you you were not in the effected area, they didn't really send you a card saying they would, and then telling you oh I am not saying your lying. (YES, MORON, THAT EXACTLY WHAT YOU DOING) but we had to call in Supervisor to do it because "YOU DON"T REALLY QUALIFY". Then WHY, OH WHY DID YOU SEND ME A CARD. THANK YOU FORD, THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, I REALLY NEEDED YOU TO MAKE ME FEEL LIKE CRAP. YOU DID A GREAT JOB!!!

Withholds My Car After Last Payment
Ford Motor Credit company is withholding my car title on my Ford Taurus after I have made the last car payment due to what the company has deemed fees and late payment charges. I do not have any correspondence as of this reporting, from Ford Motor Credit that explained or stated I would be charged anything extra above and beyond the actual car payment due each month at any time during the payment period. The representative from the company that I contacted stated on the phone that the title has not been sent to me because I owe $209 in late charges and fees because I had been late 38 times in making payments. She did not qualify late nor the charges for being late. She said that if I agreed to pay now that the company would settle for half. I told her that I did not have any correspondence from Ford Motor Credit about this late payment/fee situation as it relates to my car title. She said she would send it out that day (Saturday May 23, 2009). This does not sound legal to me but I need third party confirmation about this. Can you help or point me to someone who can help resolve this?

Reposession
My Mustang was repossessed from the parking lot at my work roughly 10pm last Wednesday. I called Ford Credit first thing Thursday morning to find out what I needed to pay to get my car back and was told then that the repossession wasn't updated in their system and I needed to call back the next morning because it took 24 to 48 hours for them to get all the information they needed. So, the following morning I called again, and was told again that they didnt have their system updated and because of the Christmas holiday I would have to wait until the following Tuesday to call back. Here it is nearly a week later and I still know nothing. I was told they need to do some reasearch to find out what I need to pay. Hello, did I not finance with your institution??? and they would try to call me back by 5pm. I work nights and beings I have no car right now I have to leave over an hour early to get there on time. I missed seeing my family for Christmas and now have pneumonia from walking to work in the cold and still I am told after all this time that they dont have their system updated. They could however tell me that they are going to sell my car on the 5th of January if I dont pay them... but they still wont give me an amount to pay so that I can go get my car back. These people really need to get their program together. It shouldnt take a week to get a reposessed vehicle back when the owner is trying to give you the money!!! If in the future I do buy another vehicle I will not finance with Ford Credit. The people there are rude and condescending aside from being disorganized

Lein Release
I bought a 2000 taurus and paid my loan off with Ford Motor Credit in 2004. I traded my car on the 14th of June and was told I didn't have a lein release on my car. I called Ford Motor Credit that day and paid for a lein release. The payment cleared my bank on the 16th. I waited for several days to receive it and finally called and they said they didn't get all the information they needed. I supplied them with that information and as of today ( July 14th. ) I still have not received my release. My car is being driven by someone with it still in my name. So far all I have gotten from Ford Motor Credit is the run around. I don't believe they mailed the first release in 2004 and I know they have not mailed the second one. I need help with this. If this person wrecks the taurus will Ford Motor company be responsible because they haven't given me the release.

Business practices
I am a single mother having a hard time keeping up with my payments. I know I cut it close each month but I make sure I get the payment posted before it falls 30 days past due to try and help my credit. I made a payment on a Saturday; I first went online and it stated it may take up to 2 business days for the payment to post to the account so I looked at the phone payment options which stated the payment would post the next business day for a fee. I did this at once over the phone. Imagine my surprise when the payment did not post until Tuesday, even when on the phone I was told it would post on Monday. This made me just miss the deadline and I believe was done of purpose. These people will not work with you. If I ever get rid of this car I WILL NEVER USE THEM AGAIN AND WILL GO TO EVERY SITE POSSIBLE TO SPREAD THE WORD they are rude and tell you its your fault anyway for waiting till the last minute. This money, I might add, cleared my account a FULL DAY before they posted it as a payment and so did the fee I paid to make sure it posted the next business day!!! They are horrible and dishonest and will never admit to a mistake

Reposessed Vehicle
I was 60 days past due on my Mustang and I had another payment coming up, which would make it 90 days past due. Last Tuesday, tow truck shows up at work and hooks my car. I was able to get everything out. For over a week now, I have been calling Ford Credit Redemption department at 1-877-349-5260 ext. 32013, and every single day they have told me that my account information has not been updated yet and I need to call back tomorrow. My car was a lease and was going to go back next month. I just want to get some info on how much all of this is going to cost me. I am not looking to get the car back. Does anyone else have any idea who I could call to get some information? Thanks for the help. John

Purchase a New Vehicle
I have had 4 prior vehicles from Ford Motor Credit. I have A1 with all my accounts, I went into the dealership to get a new car. I'm finding myself having the hardest time getting a new car. My credit rating is a tier 5 I have never had a problem before and I don't understand why Im having such a hard time now. I understand we are in hard times now but you have someone that have made there payments if I don't pay anybody else Ford Motor gets paid. Im really upset about this matter I'm going to contact my local news and newspaper. It's not fair when you have hard working people that is trying out here.

Improper Auto withdrawals from banking acct
My Ford F150 had 7 seven payments left when it was totaled. The insurance company was paying well over the value of the vehicle and were paying ford motor credit off with several thousand dollars coming to me. I called Ford Motor Credit and advised them of the circumstances and to stop future auto withdrawals from my checking accout (08/17/2009). They advised it would be taken care of. The insurance company made payment to them on 08/24/2009 which paid off the note. No withdrawal was made from my checking account for August and I thought the matter resolved. Today I checked my account and found that ford motor credit had deducted not only the August payment but the Sept payment as well which resulted in several $30 fees from my bank. I called ford credit and they advised that they did indeed receive the check from the insuance company but that I did not stop the auto payments which continue with a closed account?! I never recd an adequate explanation and they advised it would about 10 days for the money to be sent to me rather than back to the bank. They say they are not responsible for any bank charges. I now have two vehicles from ford and they will be the last I buy from them. Their customer no-service people are horrible and rude and won't even offer to rectify their mistakes. But get behind a payment and watch the phone start ringing.

Member Services Threatening
I received a call from Ford today threatening to send me into collections and report me to the credit agency. The story is that my payment is due every 26th day of the month, and will be deemed late if not payed later than the 7th of next month. So I sent the late payment 3 days ago and they will most likely receive it first thing Monday, and on top of that I also made sure that I included this month's due. I am almost finished with my payments as well, the last payment date is on March 2010. I only missed one month which is May 2009, and made on time monthly payments way above the minimum payment without fail. I hope that they are not threatening me because in less than one year I am done with my payment, and if they reposes my car today they are making more money out of it since the value of my car is in the mid 10000, and the money I owe is only less than 5000. I have had this car since 2005, and it is still in excellent condition (only drive it on weekends), mileage is only 34800, and maintenance service is always through the dealer.

Now I understand why my friends question me when I was deciding on getting another automobile from Ford. I have never experience such treatment before. With the automobile industry crisis today, you think they would be more understanding with a Ford vehicle owner. Now I wonder if all automobile company's member services are like this, when you miss only 1 payment out of many. I also own an Eclipse, an Altima, a Mercedes and a Jetta, I hope that the other company will not be these harsh. Too bad for Ford, now I am one less customer that they lost. I now I am just one, but every year I actually buy, lease or trade in through Ford. The local Ford dealer managers even became family friends. I don't think that I can deal with Ford anymore after this. This just ruined a long time friendship. Oh well, I guess its about time to look elsewhere, maybe the all new Mazda Speed 3, even the Hyundai Genesis. Sayonara Ford...

COULDN'T PAY OFF LOAN
MY LAST FORD NEVER WILL I BE SUCKERED AGAIN-- I BOUGHT A FORD F 150 AND TOOK THE LOAN OUT WITH FORD MOTOR CREDIT AT 11% WHICH WAS REQUIRED TO GET $500.00 DISCOUNTED OFF THE PRICE. THE LOAN PERSON AT THE DEALER TOLD ME TO JUST REFINANCE AFTER A MONTH. LOOKING AT MY OPTIONS AND HAVING SAVED SOME MONEY I DECIDED TO PAY OFF THE LOAN. THE FIRST PAYMENT STUB CAME AND I CALLED TO SEE WHAT THE PAYOFF WOULD BE AND DECIDED TO PAY IT OFF WITH THE CHECK BY PHONE OPTION WHICH WOULD COST AN ADDITIONAL $5.00. WHEN I CALLED TO MAKE THE PAYMENT ON THE PAYOFF DATE I WAS TOLD THE PAYMENT WOULD NOT POST TILL THE NEXT DAY AND I WOULD BE BILLED FOR THE BALANCE THEN I WAS TOLD THEY COULD NOT TAKE THE CHECK BY PHONE PAYMENT BECAUSE IT WAS OVER $5, 000.00. NOWHERE IN ANY OF THE PAYMENT OPTIONS THAT CAME WITH THE PAYMENT STUB WAS THIS INFORMATION. I SENT THE CHECK CERTIFIED MAIL RECEIPT SO I KNOW THE HAD THE CHECK AT 7:00AM AND NOW THE TELL ME THEY DID NOT GET IT TILL THE NEXT DAY. THE ADDITIONAL $11.00 IS NOT GOING TO BREAK ME BUT I'LL BE DAM IF I'M GOING TO PAY INTREST ON SOMETHING I TRIED TO PAY AND WAS TOLD BY FORD I COULD NOT!!!
