Foreclosure Agency Reviews

Unauthorized charges
Foreclosure Agency has debited my account $179.25 AFTER I had canceled subscription per their instructions; i.e., they stole from me.
May11, Sandra, emp #2303, gave me 2 week extension on my free trial period to June 2, telling me the service would cost $29.99 per year, "no monthly", and would auto cancel June 9, 2010. She gave me confirmation #fb766334.
June 1, per their instructions, I sent an email canceling service.
June 2, I left on 2 months summer road trip.
June 9, with Issac, #1122, he was to email me cancellation notice: did not.
Imagine my surprise to find, upon my return, that Foreclosure Agency and their Loan company affiliate, had debited my account for three months, for $179.25, once each month, not for one year as told me by Sandra, May 11th, (above).
August 13, I phoned, got Martha, #2768, who did cancel my subscription with confirmation numbers, but could not refund the money already debited. Asked to speak with a supervisor who did have the authority and was put on hold. Never got one.
Aug. 14, phoned, got recording, waited 28 minutes, no agent, no answer.
Aug. 26, phoned, got agent, asked for supervisor, got none, place on hold, then cut off.
Aug. 26, made second call, waited 25 min., never got through.
Total time on phone trying to resolve this issue: 66 minutes.
Issue still unresolved.
Have searched Foreclosure flier and emails I have, as well as their public web site, and have found no address to which I can mail complaint.
Company is not recommended, impossible to get through to and is dishonest.
I will continue to try, and pursue legal channels if necessary.

This is a letter I wrote to my credit card company

My name is xxxxx and I am writing to inform you that I am contesting charges that have been debited from my Capitol One debit card ending in xxxx. The company that charged my account is called The Foreclosure Agency (1800 481 8359).

The Foreclosure Agency was advertising on the radio, and they claimed to offer a free listing of foreclosed homes. I called the 1800 number to sign up and receive a one week free trial of listings. They took my contact information, as well as my credit card number, and informed me that I would receive the listing in the mail within 3 days. After the one week trial the customer representative, named Ashley at extension 1507, informed me that I could continue to work with their program for 9.95 per week, or I could cancel at anytime. The customer representative also informed me that I could access the information on their website immediately, and she provided me with a user name and password. Ashley then proceeded to ask me if I would like to sign up for other programs to receive gifts and coupons at a cost of 39.80 per month. At which time I declined the offer.

I never received a listing, nor was I able to access their website at anytime. I called the number the company provided to cancel my order, but I was never able to reach anyone. By that I mean, the phone never rang, and then I was disconnected. On November 27 at 230am my account was debited in the amount of 39.80 transaction number xxxxxx. It appears they charge me for the free gifts and coupons program, the program in which I declined.

In short, I did not authorize the company to debit my account for the weekly charge of 9.95; I was only interested in a free trial. Nor did I authorize a payment of 39.80 for any extra programs. I only authorized a charge in the amount of 1.95 for shipping of the foreclosed listing they promised, which, of course, I never received. Thank you for your kind and immediate attention to this matter. And HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

I answered a radio ad for a 'free' listing of foreclosed homes in my area. The agent said it cost $9.95 for shipping, I had 10 days to cancel or I'd be charged an additional $29.95. I thought he was repeating himself, but now realize he was telling me I was being charged for two different entities - Foreclosure Agency and Foreclosure Finance. Very deceptive script.

I received a small packet in the mail about 9 days later, and after looking at it, decided it was a ripoff and tried to call on the 10th day, a Saturday, and they were not open. When I finally got through to them on Monday, I was told I could cancel but they already charged me the monthly fees and I could not get a refund because I needed to call 'way before the 10 days is up'.

I went online to my credit card statement and found out they charged two $9.95 fees and there were two pending $29.95 charges. My credit card company said there was nothing they could do because I agreed to the terms, but I could file a dispute of charges.

Beware of these scam artists. Total charges for a so called 'free list - $79.80. Now I see that they are part of a larger network of fraudulent entities: Bargain Network, Easy Saver, American Bargain Network, American Leisure, EMI encore Marketing International.

These crooks just rip people off, and change their name and location when things get hot. They never seem to get prosecuted, just a slap on the wrist at the most.
