So doctor you come here to work. You can not practice clinical medicine, with patients, unless you pass the mother of all tests USMLE put out by the ECFMG. Its intent is to keep you from practice. The US is rated 37th for medical care, so you would think they would welcome us. I am native born here but a foreign doctor because like you I did not attend a US school.
If you have an IQ of about 180, you know your own language but can speak, read, and understand US medical terms and can memorize 1400 new drugs, and their side effects, that come out each year. You might pass.
But if you can get a fair credential evaluation you could teach, at a US University, or Hospital. The problem is getting a fair evaluation. Or you might just talk with the administrator. They like to save money.
These Evaluator folks said after I sent them my transcripts. '...we don't evaluate blacklisted schools...' I checked her facts and there is no such thing in Oregon. In fact my school is recognized by the World Health Organization, listed in FAIMER, and registered with the ECFMG. I was licensed by the Country the school was located in. To add blackmail to slander she threatened 'since I continue to use the title MD to forward this case over to the Washington State Medical Associationfor further discussion. For the record I do not work or use the title MD in Washington State. OH they refused to give me my money back $240.00. Yet no evaluation.
