Over a year ago my husband began working at Forneys and we were both ecstatic seeing as we had both been jobless for quite some time due to layoffs. To be honest it seemed like a great company at first. My husband loved his job and had made friends with several of his coworkers. They even had optional overtime every now and then that he eagerly took advantage of. Then it all changed around December of last year. That's when they started demanding mandatory overtime which is not in the contract he signed and therefore illegal. He and his coworkers were enraged but silent. If they spoke up or didn't work the overtime they were fired. Since then he has watched several coworkers get fired or stand up and walk out but never enough at a time to make Forney's rethink their treatment of free men and women as the hammer comes down harder and harder. They were working every Saturday for months even though they worked over forty hours Monday through Friday, they worked two weeks straight without a day off and this week they are working twelve hour shifts everyday without a break for the last five hours of their shift. This is inhumane and I hope to find a way to bring them to light and end this madness for the sake of my husbands health.
