Loan Modificaiton/Mortgage Scam
Forsta Mediation must be fairly new to the loan modification scam as the only results I could locate when I investigated them were very positive. The phone number returns to a landline (not a cell phone - usually the first tip off of a scam artist) and the salesman, Jeff Johnson, was prompt in returning any emails or calls I made.
I was told that they were a team/group of lawyers who could help me get my loan modification through Citibank, a notoriously difficult company to work with. I paid a portion of their fee, with the remainder to be debited from my account later. As I said, at first they were responsive. They sent printed receipts for the money I paid, they sent copies of letters that were supposedly sent to Citimortgage, etc.
Fast forward to today, six weeks later. I can no longer get a response from Jeff Johnson or anyone else in the company, and Citimortgage claims to never have spoken or had written contact with anyone from Forsta Mediation.
So, very slick, very professional set up for a scam, but scam they are. Avoid them, report them, spread the word because, right now, with only a couple exception, Forsta Mediation has flooded all complaint boards with fake glowing testimonials to make them appear to be a legit company.
