Driveway asphalt paving
I recently had my driveway paved by this company and the customer service is horrible. The driveway was to be paved to 2.5 inches and I have found several places where the edges are .5 inches think. I have one 3 foot length area that flexes almost 1.5 feet from the edge when you push on it with your foot. I have called and was told by the irritated receptionist that I would be called back by someone that can help me. I never received a call after 2 attempts.
I was holding payment until someone called, but I now know they do not care. I have sent the payment along with this letter hoping to get a reply. What I am hoping will happen now is they will come out and fix the areas in question and give me some information as to how to care for my new paved driveway.
Here is the letter:
July 23, 2007
To: Frank Climer and Sons Paving and Sealing Co. Inc.
From: MB
Regarding: Customer Service and Payment
My wife, upon calling to book our driveway paving, requested that I be called before you come out to pave our driveway. She requested this because I wanted to be there when you did the job and I wanted to make sure that everything was put away and out of your way when you did the job. This did not happen, after being told it would by the lady that answers the phones at (1-800-273-3876). The next thing I know I am being called by my daughter that your men are there and working. I talked with the "Foreman" and was informed that he was not told to call before hand and that this happens all the time and that they never call.
Now, after the job was done, I was not told what I needed to do for the pavement. The seemingly bothered lady informs me that no one is there to answer my questions, but that she would leave a message to have Mr. Climer to call me when he comes in. I never received a call. A week or so passes and I call again, this is JUNE 8th 2007. This time I call because no one has called me back, but also the pavement near the end of my driveway will flex almost a foot and a half away from the edge of the pavement for almost 3 feet. I also informed her that I had called earlier and that no one called me back. I asked to have someone call and that I was holding payment until I got the call and someone came out and met me to inspect the area. The number I left is my cell number and I have had it with me all the while. Here it is JULY 23 and I still have not been called to make arrangements to meet at my house to inspect the area mentioned and to answer me about what I need to do to care for the pavement.
I will now wait and watch this winter to see if this section of pavement will crumble away. As this is what I am expecting to happen even after sealing, which you will not be doing. I will, however, expect you to fix it when it does crumble away.
I am now sending the payment to you without your consulting me as it is clear to me that you do not care about the customers, your product, or your company name. I will also make sure that anyone asking me about paving will be informed about the horrible customer service I have received from your company. The one thing that is so disappointing to me is that your company and services came highly recommended.
