In March 2009 my wife and I took delivery of a 5/0 Sleep to Live 700 series mattress by Kingsdown, (Mebane NC).
After attempting to become use to sleep on the mattress for 9 months, I was waking up in such pain I contacted the company about the mattress being to firm.It was literally cutting off my blood flow to various parts of my body!
After much consultation the company agreed to replace the mattress under warranty.
In December we took delivery of a new mattress hoping that it would sleep more comfortable.
Not!Even though the mattress is a blue/blue where the original mattress was a red/blue( the colors determine the firmness).
Even now with the less firm color of blue, the mattress feels fairly comfortable for 4 to 6 hours, then I have to get out of bed from my back and ribs hurting!
Also I researched Consumer Reports and there are more Cons than pros! The memory foam does not breathe, it retains body heat, is to firm for some people, especially heavier people. Also it releases odors for several days.
So I am still waiting to find out what the dealer and the company are going to do to remedy the issue, if anything!
We also upgraded to a 1000 series for and additional $1540.00, making a grand total of $4, 900.00 we have invested in this mattress!
For a couple who is living off of SS and on disability, (my wife is blind), that is huge expense!
And to add insult to injury when I inquired about a warranty, the dealer Fred's Beds wanted an additional 260.00 for a 6 months warranty!
So beware of memory foam!!!, and of sleep to live mattresses!!!
