I followed instructions and called back next day 2/17/2010 to cancel membership, so that I would not be charged. I spoke with a representative (Male) who took my information and told me that my membership would be canceled. I was checking my bank statement on 3/27/2010 and found a charge from Experian for $22.95. I called Free Credit Report.com and spoke with a representative (Violet) who told me that their records indicated I had called on 2/17/2010 to cancel but hung up before call completed, so the attendant did not cancel my membership and therefore I am charged, no refund. I explained that the representative I spoke with on 2/17/2010 had assured me process was complete and membership canceled. Violet again informed me that was too bad but I would not be refunded the charges. I asked to speak with Violet's Supervisor. Violet put me on hold for about ten minutes then came back on line and told me my charges would be renunded within 7 to 10 business days and my membership canceled immediately. I asked her for some sort of confirmation and Violet told me I would receive an email within 24 hrs. confirming this. End of call.

This was supposed to be a free credit report. My card was used without my permission and knowledge.

I did the "Free Credit Report.com" thing to find out my credit score and review my credit report. The next day I cancelled the account before the "trial period" ended. Two days after that, I see a $24.95 charge on my credit card. When I called, I was told that it was not part of the membership fee but an additional charge for the credit report from 3 bureaus. I told the rep I didn't authorize it, but she said it stated clearly on the final "submit" page that there would be this charge. If it did it certainly didn't do so in a way that a normal person would recognize it right away. I chalked this up to learning the hard way and will tell everyone I know and run into that Free Credit Report.com is a scam.

Lookout for this company! FREE CREDIT REPORT IS NOT FREE. Their website states get your free credit report, but in small writing it says you will be charged only 14.95 if not cancelled within 7 days. That's 14.95 per month until you cancel. No where does it say this is only for 1 credit report company. It says Triple, which means all 3 credit reporting agencies. A week later, I forgot to cancel so I was charged 14.95. Which was my fault. I looked on my credit card and I also was charge an additional 24.95 a week later. I called and cancelled the "membership" and demanded a refund on the 24.95 charge. The woman told me that it was for getting all 3 credit agency reports. I told her this was false advertising and she talked to her supervisor and they assured me I would get a refund of the additional 24.95. I still have not gotten the credit and am filing a report with the consumer protection agency in Wisconsin. DO NOT GO TO THIS WEBSITE, THEY ARE A RIPOFF!

Unauthorized withdrawal from Checking Account, $12, 95 each month. I would like it stopped, and money returned.
