Freecreditscore.com, an Experian Company does not follow CAN-SPAM compliance. FRAUD practices.
The day after I signed up for a free trial account and DID NOT opt-in for marketing messages by them or any of their partners or affiliates, I received tons of SPAM emails. Some emails were from Freecreditscore.com and others were from domains whose Internic registration was not valid. These 2 offenses are both against CAN-SPAM compliance.
Secondly, I received the same SPAM emails into my other email accounts on the same day. I know for sure that this is from sale of my consumer data by Freecreditscore.com as I have worked for a data company and aware of their illegal practices - which is why I left. Freecreditscore.com is owned by Experian a consumer data company, who buys data from all possible sources - survey companies, magazine subscriptions, etc. I have multiple email addresses which differs by online magazine subscription, etc. Each email address is associated with a household address. Because Experian makes more money by quantity, a company that buys data from them can get my record 3 times - 3 different email addresses but in the same household. Unfortunately, none of these buyers checks for duplicates as it requires time and money, they send emails to all email addresses in the file they bought from Experian. The fact that I received the same SPAM emails in my 3 email accounts on the same day and time indicates to me that my data was sold without my consent. A third offense by Freecreditscore.com & Experian.
Please don't make the same stupid mistake I had to trust these 2 companies just because they were featured in mint.com - a highly recommended financial tracking website.
