Car stereo
My Name is Rona Raven (682-560-6161). On 10/7/09, I had my car towed to Freeman Toyota in Hurst Texas to have a drive belt/serpentine belt replaced. When I contacted Justin the serivce representative regarding the status of my car repair he stated that all they had to do was charge the car battery. On this same date, I picked my car up and my radio was not working. Prior to taking my car to this dealer, my radio and cd player worked fine. On this same date, I took my car back to Freeman Toyota and told Justin that my radio was not working. Justin then took my car to the bay area, returned within a few minutes and stated that all of the fuses work; that they did not have to touch the radio to fix the belt and that the car battery must have got too low and caused a short in the radio. I later learned from another Toyota dealer and Toyota mechanic that if the battery wires are cross wired or connected wrong, that can cause a short or electrical damage to the radio and it wont work. It is my understanding that my car battery had to be charged by a mechanic and I believe that my radio was damaged at that time. I spoke with Adrian Brown, service manager who stated that they are not at fault and that they would not replace my radio. In addition, Justin told me that I did not want to pay $356 for their radio and that I should just go to car toys and buy a $99.00 radio. I have spoken to several mechanics, 2 of which specialize in toyota repair and 2 of which do not and all of them are saying that a low car battery will not cause radio damage because batteries can lose power and when another one is bought and installed your radio will still work. AGAIN MY STEREO SYSTEM WORKED FINE BEFORE TAKING IT TO FREEMAN TOYOTA IN FORT WORTH AND NOW IT DOES NOT
