Fridge was taken in for repairs on the 16th of March 2011. Fridge was delivered and we were invoiced for R1200. Which was paid immediately. However Fridge was completely not in working condition(even though prior to fridge being taken away freezer section was working perfectly). We were told repairs were done and fridge was tested. We were given no details as to what repairs and which technicians worked on the fridge. Technicians came in numerous times and fiddled with the fridge. On each occasion times arranged were not kept too and although we made it very clear that we had to take of time from work we were delayed by hours each time. (Once we arranged to meet the technician at 10:00 a.m he eventually arrived at 7:00p.m that day. Finally we were told that the fridge has to be taken back to the workshop. Fridge was then delivered and we were told nothing was done as when testing they found the fridge to be working fine. The fridge worked for two days and then stopped completely. Despite a 30 day Guarantee on all repairs when we reported that the fridge was not working we were told that they are very busy and will try to get someone to come out. We asked for a copy of the job card which we were told has been faxed but we are yet to receive. Each time a problem occurred the company failed to contact us or return calls and we have to chase them down. Both workmanship and customer service has been terribly poor. It is now the 13th of April, in almost 1 month Freeze Well was unable to perform their basic service.
Our Loss:
We have lost numerous grocery items ( food, drinks, frozen food etc...) of which the monetary value is approximately R5000. This was purely due to Freeze Well telling us on more than five occasions that the fridge was in working order and could be stocked when this was not the case. Added to this we have made in excess of 50 phone calls to the company. We cannot even begin to put a value on time lost at work - on every occasion we were told that they would meet us at home, at a certain time, to work on the fridge and they failed to be punctual.
