I purchased a French Bulldog puppy on June 17, 2008, from “Faith” Wendy Laymon from frenchiebabies.com that was delivered sick, and subsequently died on August 23. The puppy was treated for serious health problems including GI parasites, Giardia, coughing, pneumonia, seizures, and suspected Distemper.
I contend that Laymon made repeated fraudulent and misleading representations of the puppy’s heath and violated our agreement including: - --Delivering a diseased puppy; - Delivered the puppy with no microchip in place; - Delivering the puppy with no official veterinary confirmation of vaccinations; - Failing to deliver the registration papers in a timely manner; - Delivering AKC paperwork that represented a different sire than was advertised on her website; - Delivering a French Bulldog that looked like a Boston Terrier mix, with no distinctive “bat ears.”
The breeder who called herself “Faith” used a false name and was later identified as Wendy Laymon, a convicted seller of sick puppies. See the PAWS sites. When confronted, she denied it was her. She didn’t send pictures, evaded questions, and did not respond to direct requests for information. Once Gambler arrived (sick), she was even more evasive and later, as Gambler got very sick she became combative and just freaky – screaming, that I “was stealin' her dog - like the others!” – sending me graphic pictures from PETA & PAWS – saying they are the real killers. My worst nightmare had come true – all the while my puppy was dying.
To this day, Laymon denies she delivered a sick puppy, she has refused to respond to e-mails and requests for referrals to other littermates. She has never provided me with straight answers about the condition and history of the puppy, references, or clarified her shady past. I have, and will continue to, decline her offer to receive a replacement puppy, on the basis that it may also be diseased and will further support Laymon’s running a business that may include predatory practices and animal cruelty. She will tell you my puppy died from my own neglect or “poisoning” and has refused to reimburse me for the cost of the puppy or the medical expenses incurred – over $5000. I don’t want or need the money – I want to put her out of business permanently.
