40 Days Old FRIGIDAIRE REFRIGERATOR BREAKS DOWN-PATENT PENDING
On May 12, 2011 we bought a FRIGIDAIRE refrigerator (model # FFHS2611LQ, serial # 4A11502582 ) online with 5 year warranty. It was delivered to my home Mesa, AZ on May 19 by the Home TV & Appliance store in 310 W Southern Ave, Mesa, AZ. – tel. 480) 649-1811. On July 6, 2100 in the morning I noticed the melting ice flooded my hard wood floor overnight. also noticed that the temperature under refrigerator is stuck at 4 and flashing. I called the store which delivered it to ask them have it picked up and returned. Manager told me after 30 days of purchase date it is the manufacturer’s responsibility. Also they sent a MAYTAG tech (Phoenix, AZ, 85041 @ (602) 252-6030) who came to the house on July 7 (THU) He said the temperature control is defective and needs to be replaced and it will have to wait until following week because they have to order the part from Nevada. On July 13 the tech came, replaced the control in about 15 minutes. This happened around 9:30 AM Tweleve hours later I dared to open the fridge (we were told that it takes 12 hrs for temp to adjust so I did not open earlier) and noticed that nothing has changed-the temp under refrigerator was still flashing at 4. On July 14 in the morning I went to check it Again all the melted ice flooded my floor overnight.
After more than a week with no fridge in temp over 100 F and two failed repairs I asked FRIGIDAIRE to PLEASE SEND SOMEONE TO PICK UP THE REFRIGERATOR, RETURN THE MONEY PLUS THE 5 YR WARRANTEE BACK IN MY ACCOUNT ASAP I do not want a replacement or repair I WANT IT BACK TO WHEREVER YOU WANT IT OUT OF MY HOUSE AND MY MONEY BACK
On July 14 early in the morning Electrolux customer service emailed promising the Escalation Department wll contact me . It is July 15 9 AM (AZ time) and no one has yet contacted me.
Also I notice a white label on the back of the frigidaire that says PATENT PENDING. Is PATENT PENDING appliances or anything else LEGAL in US? Does this explain why the fridge broke down after being used from May 19 to July 5-6? THANK you for acting on our behalf.

Repair issues
Purchased washer & dryer for 86 year old mother and 5 year extended warranty.First time use the dryer ripped and tore at the cloths. Called BEST BUY within the first week and wanted the dryer replaced, Best Buy refused to replace it and instead sent a repair person to "fix" it. Had to resend repair man 3 times. 3 weeks later, dryer would not spin correctly.Repairman sent again. The digital control was not working properly. A repairman was sent again. Last month when dryer would not turn on and all the lights were blinking on panel. Called Best Buy repair and was told that it would cost $100 JUST TO LOOK AT IT and that warranty expired this past February, 2011. (No notices that warranty was expiring were sent). I scheduled $100 service call and drove to Pittsburgh from Philly to meet service person (mother is afraid to have a stranger in the house). Service person called 7am saying & without seeing dryer said "it is the digital panel and that will cost over $300 plus the cost of the visit to fix." BEST BUY refused to help or replace defective dryer in first week, even though we wanted a new dryer as paid for. Dryer should not have this MAJOR repair cost after a life of five years and very little use by an 86 year old woman! We wanted the dryer replaced the first week when we saw that it was not operating correctly. The only way this can be made right is if Best Buy repairs this dryer at no cost to my mother. From the first week of purchase this dryer did not operate correctly. All I keep being told is that “your 5 year warranty was up in February.” No one is responding to the fact that the dryer did not function correctly from the first day we received it.

Customer Service
New Frigidaire Dehumidifier fails to drain 0ut backside of unit as it is suppose to. Their response is I must pay $30 on credit card to receive a possible cause of the problem. Is this what customer service has become?

poor service on freezer warranty/repair
I purchased a Best Buy warranty when I purchase my upright Frigidaire freezer two years ago. The freezer stopped working two weeks ago and having one year left on the warranty, I called Best Buy Service, was sent to the Geek Squad, put in an order for repair. I had moved and changed phone numbers since the purchase, so I gave them my new address and new phone number. I placed a service request June 8th at 7:30 AM and was told I'd get a call in 24-48 hours to let me know when they'd be out. At 4PM the next day when I still had not heard from anyone, I called back. I was told they had no record of a new address and phone number for me, but did have my request for service at the old address. I was upset. The NEXT day, a service man called me, still under the impression that he was coming to my old address. So they changed the phone number, but not the address. He did come to my house, determined a new fan was required, said he would order that and return on June 21st to replace the broken fan. This was two weeks from the time I called in the trouble. Fortunately I was able to move all of my frozen food to a borrowed freezer. This morning I called at 9AM to make sure they were coming today since I'd not heard from anyone confirming my appointment. I was told it WAS scheduled today but that someone should have called to tell me they needed to rechedule for 6/28 because they had overbooked repair appointments. I yelled at the person "Its been TWO weeks, this appointment was made 10 days ago, so reschedule someone else! The freezer in which I was keeping my food has been sold and a man is coming to pick it up tonight!!" She said there was nothing she could do. I asked for a supervisor. She said she'd have one call me back. I waited 3 1/2 hours and no one called me back. I put in an email request for someone from customer service to call me. I got a generic reply saying if it was an emergency, call the 800 number. I called that number again and asked for a supervisor. Told her my problem. She said she would do everything in her power to get someone out today. Well its now 8:45 PM. No one called. No one came. Best Buy sucks. The Geek Squad is useless. They need a management overhaul. How can they run a business like this? I would NEVER buy anything from Best Buy again. And others should beware of their useless warranties and their poor customer service. Who knows when and IF this repair will ever be done.

CRAP
Brand new 480.00$ Dishwasher. No rinse cycle for starters, really crappy racks for your dishes. All the bars
are the same on the top and bottom shelves which is totally useless.I spend more time washing my dishes
before hand than ever before. Very hard to fit any thing in it but plates.

Make sure you get a rinse cycle!!..or whats the point??
Also check the racks to make sure you have different height levels or you can't fit in things like big water jugs
or frying pans ect, , ect, , ...Cutlery is no big deal cause you can always buy trays for them.A 500.00$
machine doesn't make it work better!!..or stainless steal like mine.It doesn't open the soap packs most times
either.I'm in a condo and this thing really makes alot of noise.I have to use it early.I thought they were all sound proof now.

Poor product AND customer service
Very simply. We purchased 3 Frigidaire appliances (frig, range, over range microwave) in May-June 2008. We purposefully purchased nicer levels of equipment so that we would not have additional costs of repair and replacement. We began to problems with them shortly after the 12 month warranty ran out.

The range is not repairable. It has a design flaw that allows anything that spills down the front of it to go to the inside of the glass door where it cannot be cleaned without bending the metal covering.

The refrigerator has had ice maker issues (and the repairman explained the many design problems with Frigidaire compared with other reputable companies). Along with paying to have that repaired it has several points where it is rusting in the freezer and refrigerator compartments. One of the drawer glides broke while holding lettuce and a few tomatoes telling me that they used inferior plastics in building it.

Finally, our microwave's magnetron died after less than three years. A magnetron is $108 plus the cost to have it replaced. We've had $99 microwaves last 9 years and still keep on running. Their product lasted about as long as a 12 pack of toilet paper in a dysentery ward.

All they have ever done or offered to do is write an email of apology to their "valued customer." They do not value customers longer than it takes to slide the credit card through the card reader.

Since we began to have these problems we have had so many people tell us the same thing about Frigidaire, while everyone else says, "I've had my ____________ for 9, 10, 15, 18 years and never had them repaired. Bottom line: DO NOT PURCHASE FRIGIDAIRE.

Cost:
Ice Maker: $85 repair plus $100's of dollars in meat and groceries from icing up problems it caused AND nights awake emptying the freezer to chip away ice from the fan in the freezer.

Rack repair: $65

Rust in Frig: Irreparable

Microwave: Around $500 for new over the range microwave and the problems of installation

Microwave
Just moved into a newly purchased home that had a Frigidaire microwave #PLMBZ209GCA manf. date March 2009. I put a little dish of butter in for 30 seconds on power level 7 with a paper towel over it to avoid splatter. After 20 seconds I look in to find the paper towel in flames. After carrying the paper towel to sink I look in the microwave to see the butter hadn't even melted.
This house was in impecable condition inside and out, so I'm assuming the microwave was not abused prior to our purchase.

Extended Warranty
On April 26, 2006 I purchased a Frigidaire stove from Lowe's and at that time I also purchased an expended warranty for 4 years which gave me a total of 5 years. This stove is located in our beach home (not a rental house) only used by us about 5 months out of the year. On Sunday February 27, 2011 the bake element in my stove caught on fire and burnt completed into. I call Lowe's Extended warranty plan and they said they would sent a service technician out on Monday February 28. The service technician did come out and said he would be back on Tuesday March1 to replace the bake element. On Tuesday March1 before the service technician came out I tried to clean inside the oven but was not too succesfully. The porcelain in the bottom and on the door felt like sand paper. You could not get it clean. I called the warranty people at Lowe's back and they told me to get the Service Technician to look at it when he came and determine what had happen. He said that when the element ruptured it spewed molton metal fragments all over the oven door and over liner. He replaced the bake element but said he would have to get orders to replace the oven liner. I call Lowes extended warranty back and told them this. The insurance company that handles my warranty called and said that they would not do anything about the liner because it was a cosmetic defect and posed no treat in using the oven. I have someone that has never seen the stove telling me this and even told me to cook in the oven to see if any fragments would get in the food.(can you believe this). The liner was fine until the bake element caught on fire. Cosmetic Damage and Problems due improper or non-factory installations or repairs are not covered. I did not install the bake element. When I bought the stove it was already installed so the need to go back to the factory not me. They are failing to uphold the warranty in my opinion because of the age of the stove. If they are going to so this then they need to shorten the years of the warranty.
All I want is my oven to be back as it was before the bake element caught on fire ever what it takes from Lowes or the insurance company to do this. I was told that know Lowes does the warranties because of all the complaints. My e-mail is [email protected] and I will look forward to hearing from you on this matter.

poor quality
Just replaced a 4 year old Frigidaire side-by-side. The compressor locked up and the repairman indicated that particular compressor (made in Brazil) has been failing after 4-5 years. So, I complained on Frigidaire's web site and after two weeks no response. I tried various forms of the CEO's name but he must have a well hidden address due to the number of problems I've seen with their products. Replacing a $700 item after 4 years is one thing, but aren't they also filling up landfills with this junk? Major appliances should last 8-10+ years under normal use.

Water/Ice maker
Frigidaire FGH2844L model has a design flaw were as neither the Ice maker or water dispenser will function. I've only had the refrigerator for 4 months when both stop functioning, the service guys came out and replaced the water valve which didn't fix the issue. Then magically it started working the next day. Then after a few weeks the problem returned, this time the service guys called the Frigidaire and they are now saying its an gasket between the freezer and refrigerator compartments. The gasket is on backorder with no ETA from Frigidaire/Electrolux.
