Frigidaire Reviews

Bad customer service and machine
I have gone through the worst expreience with frigidaire. I cannot believe that in this day and age a company can get away with being so pathetic in customer service, technical support and in the production of their appliances. One month after getting a brand new washing machine which is still under warranty - it stopped working and the customer service of both the manufacturer and the technicians is so bad. They don't speak directly to each other so you have to be the go-between for them to coordinate them getting the spare part and the technician coming to your house to fix the appliance.
They have come to our place over 7 times and still haven't fixed it. They refuse to refund the amount or replace it...they just keep sending more technicians who I think are as useless as the machine is.
I wish I had read these comments online before getting any frigidaire appliance.

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY. Not only does the machine break but you will have to spend months dealing with incompetent customer service, technicians etc. I wish they would just come and take the bloody machine away!!

Could not fix my refrigerator while under warranty
I bought a Frigidaire side-by-side refrigerator from Lowes cost about $1000.

It came with a 1 year warranty, within 2 weeks the flapper that that covers where the ice comes out fell out of the door.

I contacted Lowes and got the name of the local service co. that does Frigidaire repairs.

The company Bryants app. repair sent a man out 4 times in a 8 month time frame, each time I called it was always a 2 to 3 week wait!!! This was all for the same problem.

When the warranty ran out i was scheduled for the 5th service call for the original problem, remember this had been broken after only 2 weeks of ownership.. I was told no problem they would do the last service call under the warranty..

BRYANTS WERE A NO SHOW !!!

I contacted Bryants, they told me i wasn't home when the repair man called my house.

I had taken a day off work and was there waiting on them.

I contacted Frigidaire and was told not to worry they could and would fix my unit.

After months of calls and emails I have given up trying to get the hole in the freezer door fixed.

I now have a $1000 paper weight

side note: During this time Frigidaire was trying to sell me an extended service plan that came with a fix it or get a new 1 clause... only $400

BEWARE IF YOU GO WITH FRIGIDAIRE IT DOES NOT COME WITH THE STATED WARRANTY.

Cheaply made products
I looked to see who else is having the trouble I have been having with this dishwasher, and I do see one person wrote in and I thought it was me that was writing it. This dishwasher leaves soap all over the bottom inside the dishes still have food on them it does not drain well and now today only 2 years to the date I had a repair man in here to tell me that something broke and he fixed it. What we pay for things is bad enough but to have to fix something after 2 years with hardly any use is a joke. I think the company knows the product is trash and the right thing to do is to listen to the consumer because they can knock a company right out. They will not go broke by fixing things for people they will only look better and have more people wanting the product they are selling but as for me I hardly used the dishwasher I am alone and hardly eat in???? Then why did it break because it is cheaply made and a piece of garbage. I will throw this machine out if it breaks down again. If something is wrong write and let everyone know. We work hard for our money stop robbing people with your cheaply made products. Even if we did not pay a lot more for them they should hold up!!!

Oven
We purchased an oven, made by Frigidaire, that has a rusting problem on the steel door but even worse is that the door handle has unattatched from the oven several times!

In my opinion the screws that secure the handle to the oven are too short to keep it attached. This becomes dangerous because when the handle comes off, the layers of the door separate and sharp glass corners are exposed along with very hot surfaces.

You also usually lose your dinner because you have to wait a few hours for the oven to completely cool before trying to re-attatch the handle. It is also extremely hard to try and fix and, in the end, the repair does not last very long.

I have been very disapointed with my Frigidaire appliances and will choose a different brand next time.

damaged
Bought A/C and it was not working plus the remote that was supposed to come with it was not in the box. The customer service was unhelpful not the least apologetic.

Simply awful
In the spring of 2007, the back of the fridge made an horrible noise and slowly the temperature in the fridge/freezer dropped and then completely died. The compressor (after only 4 years!) had to be completely replaced! Very expensive part!

Now, in August 2007, a few months later our stove just completely stopped working. We can not bake anything, only the stove-top works. We had the elements tested and they aren't the problem so once AGAIN, we have to have someone come and open the back of our appliance and preform service for what we are told is probably a hot device which is a minimum of $200 + service.

We regret not paying the extra for KitchenAid appliances!

Very unreliable
We bought a Frigidaire refridgerator in April of 2009. On June 28 we found everything in the freezer defrosted. The repair man came on June 30 and said that the compressor, the motor, and the blade all had to be replaced. This refridgerator is 2 months old and worthless!! Even the repairman said frigidaire appliances were very unreliable.

Scam and lies
I'm filing on behalf of my mother, and the washer and dryer she bought from Frigidaire just a couple of years ago.

She bought a matching washer and dryer set, new, from a local appliance dealer. The set was aesthetically pleasing, came with a one year warranty and was sure to be the answer to all of our washer and dryer needs. We'd soon find out otherwise.

She purchased them in the month of December, and within weeks, the washer had begun to make strange noises. Over a short period of time, the noise became louder, and upon inspecting it, my mother soon had figured out that a factory defect in the motor has caused the main spindle to snap, thus knocking a hole in the tub. The kitchen was flooded!

So, here we are, a few short months after the purchase, with a non-functioning washer. But that was ok-- afterall, we had a one year warranty, right? Wrong.

The local dealer wanted nothing to do with the problem, he refused to contact the company but insisted that my mother do so. Upon contacting the company, (and for the sake of report length, I'll omit the length of time it took to actually get a response from them), they told my mom that it was her problem, and that if she wanted to purchase a new one from them, they would give her a small, and almost worthless, discount.

Our repairman even tried to discuss the issue with them, though ultimately, his word didn't matter to them, either. He explained the problem to my mother, and confirmed that it was a factory defect that caused the entire situation.

In the end, the company didn't care, they provided no warranty as promised and my mother had to buy a new washer. Needless to say, she didn't buy anything from them!

As for the dryer, aside from a strange discoloring that no one can explain, it has behaved almost properly-- at least we haven't had to replace it yet. I guess it could be the ghost of scorned Fridigaire customers passed.

broken and loud
I purchased a new Frigidaire refigerator.Within the first month the freezer was not getting cold.A tech came out and repaired it.The plastic shelves (3 of them ) have snapped and broken. If you open the door too quick the bottom plastic guard on the bottom self falls off, sending condiments flying onto the floor. It runs really loudly and at least every few minutes does this obnoxious clicking sound .I hate it and will never buy another frigidaire appliance as long as I live! I regret it and will buy a new refrigerator as soon as i can afford it but for now I'm stuck with this lousy, annoying, broken, and inadequate product!!!

worst appliances on the planet
Who is the CEO of Frigidaire? He should be ashamed of himself, to allow these products on the market! I bought a newly renovated place, and the sellers had put in all new frigidaire appliances. THANK GOD I paid the extended warranties. I am on a first-name basis with the repair guys, and I have all their cell phone numbers. I have this recurrent dream that I meet the ceo of Frigidaire and put him in his place on the spot. These are the biggest piece of crap appliances, and I think that for what I paid for the warranty over the past 3 years, I could have bought all new GE profile appliances.
