well me and my husband went to buy a cook top from conn's store on 19746 interstate 45 in spring tx, before went we call and confirm to make sure they had the correct size and have it in stock .we talk to a gentleman in the store he told us he call us back and he did. told us to come up there by that afternoon we did. when we got there we were greet by this man by the name of MR.Douglas smallwood .We told him that we talk to a gentleman and told us to come up here and pay for a cooktop so that they can order it he ask us what size we told him he told us that they might have one in .So he took us over to a display that they have just open he said this is a 36inch cooktop we ask him was this the one we call about .He said that, that gentleman didn't know what he was talking about . So he talk to us about about the price . he had a hard time find the price at first then he finely it. It was 249.97 plus tax when we got home we unwrapped the cook top and put it on the contertop it the right size in the length but the width of the cook top was not right .so we call them back and ask to speak to mr smallwood he told us that they didnot have any and they have to order it they don't know when it will get it .we keep calling for two weeks finely they say when we call them back this time that they can't take back the cook top because it use now which its not all we ask was a swap and we pay the difference because we find one on th web .

shoddy merchandise
I bought a new Frigidaire refrigerator. I have had it less than three months and it has stopped working twice. It is a piece of junk. The dealer has refused to replace it. I get to wait around for a repairman, and if I leave for a few days, I get to enjoy the possibility (probability!!) of coming back to a refrigerator full of rotting food.

Manufacturer's Defect
In September of 2008, I bought a Frigidaire cooktop. After using it several times I took the drip pans off to clean them and noticed that the paint underneath had chipped. I then noticed that the drip pans on the bottom had not been finished in the manufacturing process. We went back to the store and looked at the store model and the drip pans and the finish were the same on both sides. The book that came with the cooktop says to clean it with soap and water and a paper towel. But since it was never finished properly it is hard to get food off of it. The burner grates also have the paint coming off because they weren't finished right. Even on the bottom of one of the drip pans you can see four fingerprints where someone in the manufacturing process grabbed the unfinished drip pan.
I contacted the company and they said it was a cosmetic issue and is not covered. I disagreed because it is a flaw in the manufacturing process not something I did to the unit. They gave me a list of three appliance repair companies and said that if I called ONE of them and they came out and agreed that it was a manufacturer's issue that they would replace the cooktop. So I took time off from work and had a repairman come out. He totally agreed with me and said it was a flaw in the manufacturing process and that the drip pans and the rest of the unit had not been finished correctly. He said he would replace it, but then called Frigidaire to report what he found and a technical person said it was cosmetic and not covered. The repairman said he couldn't do anything for me. I then called Frigidaire customer care, which is a joke, and was told to get a second opinion. I find it funny that they don't believe the first appliance repair company that they sent me to. I didn't pick this repair company, they did. I said that I now have to take time off from work AGAIN to have a second repair company come out to tell me the same thing and then what, Frigidaire will dispute that too.
I can't believe that Frigidaire won't back up the manufacturing of its products. I think they are trying to give me the run around so I'll just give up. Not going to happen. This is a manufacturer's defect, said so by the repair company not just me, and not a cosmetic issue. I called the second repair company and told them what happened and they couldn't believe that Frigidaire wouldn't believe the repair company. Customer service, where has it gone? I bought what I thought was a great brand name and now I think Frigidaire's brand is flawed as badly as its merchandise. Beware if you buy a Frigidaire product, get ready to go down this long and frustrating road.

Poor Service
I purchased a side by side refrigerator from the Conn's in Baton Rouge, La. It went out on 2/8/09 the service dept says it won't be able to get anyone out until 2/17/09. The service rep for frigidaire will be by on friday to fix the problem. Conn's in my opinion does not stand by their warranties. I spent three days waiting to here from Conn's, only to be told it will take another several days to get to me. If you go to their website there is an complaint address that does not work. THAT'S THE PROBLEM WITH AMERICAN BUSINESS'S TODAY.

Front Load Washer poorly engineered.
This is the worst company and product I have ever had the misfortune to deal with.
It started with installation 7 years ago. Mounting the dryer on top was a challenge because the mounting brackets and slots in the dryer were about 2" off. It is still like this on the new units 7 years later! Does anyone work in the engineering department?
I bought this washer in 2001. Since then it has needed 3 pumps ($50-$80 each). Simply putting a filter to catch coins and debris would go along way to improve the performance.
Now (2008) a catastrophic failure. The bracket attaching the shaft and inner SS basket has corroded to the point of failure. Putting two different types of metal together will do that. I called Frigidaire to get a replacement for the inner basket (25 Year warranty). I was informed that if the spider is broken then it is not covered by warranty. They told me that the spider is not sold separately it is sold with the $300.00 inner basket (which has a 25 year warranty) attached to it. Who's on first? They also tell me that I need to pay a service call $100.00 to replace it because I am not CSA certified. I asked them to show me that in writing and Jim pointed me to the warranty page. I said it only says labour is not covered which is fine I will do the work myself. I asked them to show me that policy in writing. He could not but said it is their policy. Show me is all I asked. I then asked to speak to a supervisor. Jim at the call centre said he is the supervisor and will not ask a supervisor to call me. I finally got Jim to agree to ask a supervisor to call me.
I was obviously irate and they did not have the skills to listen to my complaints or diffuse my anger. They are only interested in one thing. Getting me off the phone as quickly as possible. I will make a short documentary about why this product should not ever be made or purchased. Posting it to Youtube may cause them to lose at least one sale. That would hit them where it counts, the bottom line.
Before you complain about off-shore products this was made in Augusta, GA. USA!
The call centre was in Canada .
I expect more from a $700 Washer.
NEVER BUY FRIGIDAIRE!

Unreliable Junk
I bought a beautiful stainless refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave and stove unit thinking I was getting better than cheap junk. I was wrong. The refrigerator door dispensor electronics went bad the first day home! Lowe's swapped it out for me. Then the thing sprung a leak and put water all over my floor. That was fixed. Then the electronics went out and spoiled my food. That was fixed. Then something else went wrong (too many problems, I can't remember the fourth!) I asked to have the lemon replaced and they refused. Then my range oven started dripping betwen the glass. You have to disassemble the door to fix it, and it is back within a week. Then my microwave turntable and wave generator went bad. I repaired that. Then the high voltage power supply and the reflector went bad. The store that fixed it said they dropped the brand because they didn't want to lose customers. Don't buy a Frigidaire. It is not even made by Frigidaire.

washing machine damaged within 1 month
My Dad bought a brand new washing machine in duty free philippines. within a month and a half the machine stopped working. My family members had called the Frigidaire Service Center but till now nobody had comed and fixed it. so basically they just ignored our complaint. this is a serious matter and should the company must give attention to this one, so many times my mom, sister, aunt had called up! till now nobody had given action. I'm working in Dubai so I cannot solve the problem either. I hope this complain will reach not only the management of Frigidaire Philippines but also Dutyfree Philippines.

Bad service
Bought a Frigidaire Chest Freezer 6/22/06 . Smelling mildew around the freezer, pulled freezer back ; no mildew, floor rotting out from under freezer . It's leaking water from under it, had repair man from store of purchase come and look at it . 8/18/08 He was stumped on why it was leaking . Eveything is in working order - temp, etc. Repair man called Frigidaire Repair and got the same answer . It shouldn't be leaking . Don't know what the problem is . Called Frigidaire Consumer an they gave me the run around . Live in Rural area, They ( Frigidaire) wants second opinion . They gave 2 repair services, neither one in are area, or willing to come to area . I called back . Nothing they can do . They will give rebate with new freezer purchase . Called back now waiting on them to call in a service repair themselves to come out, not knowing how much that's going to cost .
I have 3 main applainces that are Frigidaire . If they are going to brake down at just over 2 years old, an they do not want any responsiblty to deal with it .
All I want, wished for was to be able to get my freezer repaired . My husband will fix the floor . But when no one knows what's wrong with it, an just keeps giving me the run around . WHAT am I to do ? If it was a normal repair, fine it would already be fixed . But it is not an no one wants to help, it's not their problem cause the warrenty ran out 1 yr earlier.

Rip off
Frigidaire does not honor their mail in rebate program. I purchased a kitchen full of appliances and qualified for a $250 rebate. I got a check for $25. What makes the whole situation maddening however is that there is no easy way to contact them in order to press them. They have consumers use a snail mail address for correspondence. There are are email or phone numbers. My snail mail got usually got ignored and when it didn't it took weeks to get response that offered no closure.
Hopefully this will discourage people from buying some Frigidaire products and teach them a lesson...

Terrible quality product
We bought all Frigidaire appliances on a kitchen remodel. The refrigerator made ice but never shut off. It is obvious that the trigger mechanism to shut off the ice maker will never be triggered by ice in the tray because it is too far above the tray. The ice falls out into the freezer before it piles high enough to trigger the off switch on the ice maker. So then I triggered it myself manually. But when we had used the ice and I pushed the trigger mechanism downward to turn it back on it did not commence making ice again.
The dishwasher will not hold a standard size plate unless you lay it down almost flat. If you keep the plates vertical it hits the spinning spray jet on every half turn.
In addition to losing domestic jobs, we also lose quality when manufacturing and assembling jobs go to China.
