frigidaire, unreliable junk
I bought a frigidaire side by side refrigerator less than a year ago. I trully felt frigidaire was a good product, so much so that I also bought a freezer 6 months before that and a dishwasher 8 months ago. I awoke one morning to fing my refrigerator quit working, water everywhere food spoiled one day before a large party!! Called customer service and took three times of service tech not showing up to tell me nothing is wrong. A day later freezer dies, more spoiled food(lots of money in one week) And my dishwasher always get stuck in wash cycle. Im very disappointed, escpecially when I contact customer service, and felt like I was interrupting her from something more important. The call to customer service was the most disappointing. Please dont waste your money

Heat Pump Failures
In August 2006 I purchased a Frigidaire single package heat pump (puron) to replace my old, inefficient unit (Freon). During the first year of operation (2006-07) the new H.P. had continuous problems with both heating and cooling causing interruptions of service and requiring the replacement of various parts including a compressor. In August 2007 the unit failed during the hottest part of the summer (106 to 113 degrees). The AC company who sold me the unit recommended replacement with a new Frgidaire H.P. under the manufacturer's warranty, I agreed. There was no unit available in Nevada, the replacement H.P. would have to come from the Frigidaire (Nordyne) in Missouri, which would mean at least another week or more of living in extreme heat for me. When the new H.P. finally arrived in Las Vegas at Nordyne's distributer, my AC company discovered they would have to pay for the unit before the distributer would release it to them. The AC Company refused the delivery and told me they were washing their hands of any responsibility in the matter and left me very hot and upset. (I later found out that if my AC Co. had payed for the new unit, Nordyne would not refund their money until my old H.P. was returned to them for inspection and they (Nordyne) had determined that my old unit was indeed defective. This, so I'm told, could take 60 days or more. If Nordyne decided the unit was not defective my AC Co. might not be able to recover their money from Nordyne. I started calling Nordyne's Las Vegas distributer, I called Nordyne, I even contacted a local TV consumer advocate. This went on for several days, the distributer said that while he appreciated my problem, his hands were tied. Nordyne said they understood my problem but backed my A.C. Co.'s decision to back out of the deal, "they did exactly what they should have done" the Nordyne rep told me. I never heard from the local TV consumer advocate. Suddenly, after a couple of days, Nordyne's distributer said they would arrange to have the new H.P. installed by a different A.C. Co. but it would cost me Two hundred and fifty dollars and a new transition would have to be fabricated as the old one was not large enough. Finally, after two plus weeks of extreme heat and frustration, the new H.P. was installed and operating. The new unit, although slightly noisy, worked well until July, 2008 when the compressor failed again. The new A.C. Co. contacted Nordyne who, although certain a bad installation or, I don't know, maybe something I personally did to the unit was responsible, agreed to supply a new H.P. to the A.C. Co. to install if I would come up with a thousand dollars first. (I'm not sure who the thousand dollars is for, Nordyne - the A.C. Co. or both). I should say here that the Nordyne's Las Vegas distributer and the second A.C. Co. may be the same entity and they became involved in this deal to help me out. I decided to hold off on the A.C. Co.s offer and see if my home warranty insurance will cover my defective H.P.. based on past performance of this Frigidaire unit, it could cost me at least a thousand dollars a year just to replace compressors under the manufacturer's warranty. That's the story to date, its 92 degrees in my house at 4:00 am with a high of 112 degrees predicted for today and still no air conditioning in sight.

26 cu ft fridge quit after 17 months
I purchased a side by side 26 cu. ft fridge, freezer 17 months ago for the purchase price of about $1, 000. I didn't get an extended warranty because I figured it should last me a couple years. I didn't think it would quit on me this soon. All my food in the freezer and fridge had to be thrown out. If this is the kind of quality I can expect for a name brand like frigidaire, than next time I will go with a different brand. P.S. I checked for the model # and found out the fridge was made in Mexico. Their level of quality must be lower than ours.

Repair of microwave
I purchase a microwave from HH Gregg and it was delivered to my home on March 24, 2008 ans install. When I went to use it, it did not work. The turn table did not work nor did the control panel. I contacted the store and they sent a repair person to work on it. He looked at it and told me I need a new control panel board and that he had to order one. He returned within a week with a new control panel and install it at which time that one did not work either. He then tested the swiches and stated that may be the problem so he went in an changed all those. To no avail that did not solve the problem. He contacted the teck support person for your company and explained the problem and that he felt it was something wrong with the microwave and that it should be replace. We contacted the store and explained the problem and they were to get back with me within 24 hours. Well to no avail no one called me back so I called the store again and I have talked to three (3) differant managers and still nothing has been done. I have been with out this appliance for over a month now and I feel I have been very patient in waiting to get this matter resloved. At this point I feel I should get a new microwave.

Bad experience
3yr old front loader clothes washer ran well up until a few days ago. The unit began making loud grinding noises. After casual inspection, I found that the Stainless Steel rotating tub was very loose in every axis.
I spent a few hours in a detail inspection and after disassembly of the plastic tub unit, I found that the three spokes of the drive hub/spindle has broken off shaft.
No debris other than plastic found. To our knowledge it has not been overloaded. Another post on another board indicated same issue.

customer service sucks
we purchased a fridge and stove at LEON'S and had it delivered today .well the stove was fine but the fridge looked like it was sitting in a warehouse for about a month it was so filthy, no handles to go with it, scratched on the side and front and to top it off the door would not shut, so i told the drivers to take it back they called the warehouse first then they left without the USED fridge telling me that i would receive another 1 today sometime today but could not give me a time when . so i called LIZ ALMADA from the STONE CHURCH ROAD E. HAMILTON store and to my surprise "NOTTTTTTTTTTTT" she happened to be in a meeting and would return my call . When she did she told me to use the fridge until i got the NEW 1 and i told her i could not because the door would not shut .Anyways she also told me that it will be delivered but did not know when by 3 p.m. i called her back to ask her whennnnnnnnnn it was being delivered but she was busy of course. The drivers of the second truck came to bring the new fridge and i had told him that it will fit through the front door no problem he out right ignored me and measured the door and then went to the truck took the freezer and fridge door off why i do not know told me to move my car up for what i do not know why come in the living room asked my mother to move the rug for what who knows then they brought it in they put the doors back on the freezer door wouldnt shut tight then he tightened it and they were going to leave without putting on the handles . So i told them that if they didnt put the handles on they could bring both back to the store and i would go to the brick to get my appliances .he was very very very rude along with this cutomer service manager Liz . I feel that we should be compensated for the B.S. that i had to go through .The CEO of LEON'S should put in their employees heads that customers are right and thats where their lively hood comes from .
