This is a complaint about the "bait and switch" tactics used by a contractor of United Van Lines, and reneging on promises made to get our business. After Fry-Wagner’s sales rep, Scott, came to our house and viewed our furniture that we were moving from Arnold, MO. to Chesterfield, MO., he gave us an estimate of $908.38. We approved their moving this furniture, but when they finished the move, they billed our credit card for $1, 911.97, saying they underestimated the bid. We protested this amount and then they said if we use them to move the same furniture to Tucson, AZ, they would give us a partial refund on the first move. So, again, we agreed, and once the move was completed to Tucson, and they billed our credit card for $5, 241. When we asked for our refund on the first move, they refused, saying we owed them more money on the first move.
A perfect example of a unscrupulous business taking advantage of senior citizens on a fixed income.
