Rebate
I purchased 2 printers, each at 50 dollars. Fry's offered a 50 dollar rebate for the printers if you were buying a computer at the same time. I was purchasing 2 desktops so I got the 2 Canon Printers. I filled in all tghe required papers within 3 days and sent them out. I put exactly the papers required, triple checkes, and double asked at the counter in Fry's. The rebate never came, after much insistance they sent a communication on my rebates. They said one was missing the original receipt, and the other the proof of purchase. I put both envelopes together and am sure nothing was missing, I am quite retentive. Nonetheless I offered to send the copies so they could see both things that were "lacking". They stated the time frame hgad gone by, so even if I could send teh paper work tehy would not be able to give me my rebates. Obviously one is not there when they open teh envelopes(if they actually do, or if they end up in a dumpster), and we can not get a notary to certify what was in the package to get the rebate. I will never shop at Frys again, need less to say. I do know how to fill in the paperwork for rebates I have received rebates from ATT, Verizon, BestBuy, Lowes, etc... and have never had any problems with ANY of them, except one that I SENT OUT OF TIME, thus my fault.. with Frys 2 out of 2, were missing papers... and nobody really cared, or simulated caring...

Rude Service
I drove to the Fry's store in Oxnard California over the weekend, looking for a unit a saw on the Fry's website. When I got there I quickly asked a salesman while he was walking by doing nothing but smacking his hands together and asked him "excuse me? do you have a Vga to Rca converter? He very rudely replied "NO SUCH THING EXISTS!" while walking away from me! then I said:" Well its because I saw on your website and thats why I drove all the way over here" to my amazement he sais; WELL THEN THATS THE ONLY PLACE YOU'LL FIND IT! I have never been treated like that at fry's before and I have spent thousands of dollars there! its just sad that because of cocky salesperson with no experience I have to write this complaint!

No one can tell me where my printer is, the status, etc.
I should have learned by now after prior negative experiences with Frys. Hey, I figured getting the extended warranty would have my back. Guess again... Bought a color laser printer with the extended warranty in April. It died the end of September. With the replacement printer, after the cartridges are gone and I complain, I'm told it's like a loaner car -- you have to buy the gas. Yeah, but I at least get a full tank of gas and it doesn't set me back several hundred bucks to fill it!

After numerous instore visits to get the status because a phone call doesn't get you anywhere, no one can tell me where my printer is, the status, etc. I was promised an email, not seen it yet. Court of law the next stop???

Service Contract
Typical of Fry's Electronics service contract and service department as I have come to find out, they took my nonworking laptop, and did nothing for 7 weeks, then called me and said it didn't work because of water damage, and charge me another 70.00 for the diagnoses. The computer has never been around water or had anything spilled on it. It's not a coincidence that after 8 weeks, if they can't fix the item, they have to replace it. Here's a way, which I did, to screw Fry's right back. Take their loner computer, cancel the credit card you used to set up the repair, and keep the loner. I decided to force them to honor their contract myself. Now they are stuck with a computer that doesn't work, and don't have a valid credit card to charge a dime on. They have to take me to small claims and fight it out if they want any money out of me.

Rip off
Fry's sells laptops without mentioning the battery life and once you open them and find that it sucks, they will still charge you 15% restocking fees for returning them.

I exchanged the two computers and Fry's gave me used computers in return instead of new ones.

Never buy from Fry's any longer. They are not any better fro pricing also.

Advertised item not available
Fry's advertised an Amana portable air conditioner-windowless 12000 btu with heater for $349.00 and listed all of their Southern California stores in the ad. The ad was in the July 19, 2009 Los Angeles Times.

The closest Fry's store to me was in Manhattan Beach, CA. Fry's Manhattan Beach store said they never had the advertised Amana air conditioner and never would. The sales clerk was pleasant but confused and untrained. She kept me waiting as well as other people
while contacting a "manager."

I was shuffled from store to store including Fountain Valley, Burbank, etc. By the time I had a response from the Oxnard store, 75 miles away, the next morning, I was told it was a one day sale and the price was now $499.00, the full retail price rather than 349.00 the sale price.

Sent empty box
I placed an order for a bluetooth headset, about a week later I received an empty box, just 2 packing pillows and the invoice...no product. I called customer service, they said they would check on the order and get back to me. 2 weeks later I still hadn't heard anything, I called back again and talked with someone who said there was no record of my previous call but she would put in a claim for a lost order. Again 2 weeks later I had to call them, this time they said they will be issuing a credit because they no longer have the product in stock and would not send me an upgraded product for the original price. This is absurd, they probably didn't have any when I ordered it and lied about me calling...very frustrated and don't recommend anybody order from them.
