Non Delivery and Pathetic Service
I have purchased a number of items at the end of May of which 1 item has still NOT been delivered to me 30 days later!!! Everytime i call in i get a pathetic excuse to say everything possible has been done to ensure i receive it. If i did not call the store and provide them with a solution to provide me with a Loan item until they receive my original item which i have purchased and paying the interest thereof for 30 days for an item i dont even have.
I AM UTTERLY DISGUSTED BY THE SERVICE PROVIDED BY THE CRESTA FURNITURE CITY STAFF AND MANAGER AS WELL AS THE RESPONSE TIME AND RESPONSIBILITY TAKEN TO ENSURE CUSTOMER SATISFACTION!!!

All round bad experience at Furniture City
I've recently returned to South Africa and my first choice for buying goods was Furniture City. Let me start off by saying that I will NEVER purchase anything from Furniture City again!!!First, the salesman, Willem, sells me goods that he neglets to tell me is going on Sale the very next day! Imagine when I opened the newspaper and saw the goods which I purchased sold for R2000 less than what I paid for it. I pay over R1000 for delivery fee and get no help with setting up anything. I get told when I purchased the furniture - 2 leather couches and a washing machine that I have to take out insurance with Furniture City as my insurance with outsurance wasn't 'old enough' to cover my new furniture. Now, 7 months later, I'd like to cancel my insurance with Furniture city as I have double insurance and then I get told that they cannot change my contract! I have never felt more RIPPED OFF by one company!

Damaged furniture never replaced
This pertains to a complaint dated a year or so ago. The just of it is I purchased a Caesar lounge suite sometime ago and due to it being faulty it was swapped out at Southgate. The Caesar lounge suite had been discontinued and so I paid in R6000-00 and got an L-Shape lounge suite. When it was delivered I called in to report the lounge suite was damaged. It was torn on the back, on the sides and there were marks on the steel frame legs. Basically I was given used goods. In your terms a DEMO! She promised me she would source the same set as the rest had been sold out. She came back to me, only to tell me it would take a couple of weeks to deliver. I was fine with that, but a few weeks it never took. Thembi offered to pay me R1200-00 to keep the lounge suite or to return the lounge suite and take something else. I decided to return and get another NEW lounge suite. This has never happened. Now I just want a full cash refund. I am tired of being messed around. I do not look forward to being replaced with more used goods.. I want this put to an end, as I do not think it is my responsibility as a client to run after customer service.

They are forcing you to pay R400 extra
They wanted R400 to deliver furniture, we said we would collect. Next they would deliver to the store from the warehouse, once every seven days. If we were not there when they delivered to the store to check them and the goods were damaged, it would take seven days for them to collect and return to the warehouse, then another seven days to re-deliver. They are forcing you to pay R400 extra.

I am completely shocked and disgusted with the service that this manager has given me so far
Last October I purchased a leather lounge suite, black wall unit and Sony home entertainment. My lounge suite has been in for repairs 3 times and they wont replace it with a new one! Its a two piece set, one part has been in for repair 3 times, second piece has been in once. It came back from repair yesterday and its still not repaired properly. Today it will go in for repairs for the fourth time. I spoke to George and his only response is that his supplier has to authorise this. My argument is I purchased this from Furniture City and its their responsibility to tell their supplier that this is unacceptable and they have a very unhappy customer but thats not whats happening! I work in a security industry and I am the manager of our service department and I certainly dont tell our customers that the supplier has to authorise a warranty swop out! I tell our supplier that this must happen! I am completely shocked and disgusted with the service that this manager has given me so far, not once did he apologise for the inconvenience this has caused me and my family!

Not impressed with the delay and service received
I am not impressed with the delay and service received from FurnitureCity Gezina. I bought a 3 corner lounge suite In December after paying cash for it. Reported to Furniture City in early Aug to please come and have a look, the stitching of cushions came loose, couch not well padded and a pannel had different coulour fabric. The set returned and kept in the store fro 17 Aug to 28 Aug. Supplier confirmed on 31 Aug that it wil take 14 days to repair because of a back log. In the meantime the customer is without any seating place and inconvenienced.
Suggested to have a refund of replacement, because i'm not happy with the quality of funiture sold to me, Customer even willing to pay in extra and buy a item that is value for money.

Called 17 times from from tuesday till friday morning
I have a furniture city account and its not the first account I have had there, this month I was late paying my account but I paid it on 8 August via internet banking like I do every month.
On Tuesday 18 August the call centre phoned me I explained that I had paid the account giving them the date and amount that was paid. From Tuesday till Friday morning there was 17 phone call made to my cell phone from them, Friday afternoon they phoned again and this time I lost my temper and screamed at the man as he was very very rude, I then put the phone down on him. About 20 minutes later they phoned again, I refused to answer the phone so my husband took the call, but this time it was a manager who was actually very nice and had appologised more than once and explaind that there system was a little slow picking up payments, he then told us if anyone else phones to just tell them to speak to him as he knows what has happened on this account.
Then believe it or not Saterday morning comes and they phone again, monday comes 3 more phone calls all in all there was something like 24 phone calls from Tuesday till monday afternoon and that excludes all the calls to my office number.

False advertising
I recently bought a Rustico junior desk from Furniture City Boksburg. In the advert is a picture of the desk with two drawers and the ad saying Rustico junior desk R1399.00 save R200.00. When I went into the store the desk was there with the two drawers. I bought it only to find that the drawers were an extra R285.00 each. No where did it say drawers not included / extra. The manager said he would phone me back but as yet have not heard from him.
