Greg Ryback Owner of Ryback Landscaping was hired to do a very large landscaping job in our backyard. This job included retaining walls, 4500 sq ft of pavers patio installed, trees, shrubs, seed, sod landscape lighting and sprinkler system. Well after only 3 months at least 50% of the trees purchased and planted by Ryback Landscaping are dead. Finally after months of disagreements Greg has agreed they are dead. Since then he has told us something different every other conversation. First he said he doesn't think the trees are dead then he said he would replace them. Since the trees he selected ( he refused to allow us to personally select the trees last nov. of 07 ) don't provide any shade he has agreed in writing to give us a credit toward planting larger trees. first he said he could not plant large trees then he said he could . first he said we had almost a $5000.00 credit then changed his mind. then again agreed to meet at a nursery of our choice to select larger trees for our yard to provide sufficient shade He didn't call ahead to set up an appointment wasted time to say the least. We met again at this nursery. He agreed again we had over a $4000.00 credit and agreed to plant what ever trees we wanted not the same ones he originally planted. we selected trees he gave us the credit in writing again. then again changed his mind he has proven to be a poor business man and a liar. After talking to tree specialists in nj it also appears that he truly does not have the experience necessary to be a landscaper. We are now back to square one and under the wire. We have a very small planting window left this year and our warranty period is almost up he has had numerous family crisis. His and his wife's stories conflict and don't add up or match each other. Now he is only able to give us half the money in credit toward new larger trees. but can't even contact us because of another crisis. We spent over $200, 000.00 with Ryback Landscaping and know we will spending more with a lawyer and will be suing Ryback Landscaping and the owner Greg Ryback for breach of contract since the trees they planted had warranties and they can't or won't honor the warranties. We were told that they didn't us proper drainage and the trees drowned or they planted the trees to deep either way they are responsible for this and are not honoring the contract.
